I never have time for "it's a slur!" because the people who insist you don't say "queer" will never do the same for "gay", a word that was involved in a lot of harassment and violence that basically anybody who grew up in the 80's and 90's endured. All words for us are slurs. Queer is a good word.
The thing about the word queer is that is was, at one point. used as a slur so a certain generation asking you not to use it makes sense.
However, for me, I like the nebulousness of queer. It's roomy. It doesn't require me to explain gender or sexuality.
Which is precisely why bad actors hate it.

I will be honest: we are not talking nearly enough about the downstream effects of these ICE and CBP deployments.
For example: landlords and debt collectors file more aggressive collection and eviction suits with dubious (or no) factual bases, knowing that the defendants won't go to the courthouse.

Extremely not a coincidence that those top three countries are the three big settler colonies remaining with their original settler states. "Wealthy country" is not a coherent category when most of the people in those three countries are still functionally colonial subjects.
