In my time on social media, I've come to find that highlighting shitty posts from randos with no following or traction isn't productive, and in fact only serves to piss off people for no good reason.

The only reason anyone is seeing some nobody's shitty take is *you* reposting it.

When you say ASAP, do you say it as one word or do you say each letter?

There is something about my body chemistry today that is causing my antiperspirant to smell a little Drakkar Noir and I'm sorry but I'd rather not

It will never not amaze me (in a good way) that generations younger than me wear their knapsacks (or backpacks as the Americanised kids say) correctly cos when I was a kid, doing so meant you were a nerd who deserved an ass-kicking

Yay for ppl caring about back health!

My watch giving me a "3 minutes left. You can do it!" pep talk during posing practice like a didn't run a half marathon today is cute lol

Today, I got another royalty payment. Thank you everyone who continues to buy my book. Tell your friends. Write reviews. Word of mouth is still the number one driver of sales
4 years ago today, I got my offer of pub for CRIP UP THE KITCHEN. 3 years ago today, it went to the printer (1 year is an extremely rushed production cycle for a cookbook oof).

Today is the perfect day to buy it for yourself or the disabled people in your life!

This is why we all freak out about theft btw, bc just a few copies can make an actual, real difference. you would be surprised at how few copies someone needs to make it onto a bestseller list
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

This is how I know there are many internets because every single author I know who has to support themselves with a job that isnt writing is very open about it. I know a heck of a lot of authors, incl myself. Like a lot a lot. Only 2 write full-time.

This just means more pies for me.

Pie is my fave dessert. Outside of sweet potato pie, I haven't met a pie I didn't like
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

I did 3 5-minute miles in a row today 😮😮😮😮

Just under a half marathon (20.1 km) in 1hr20m today. Could have easily paced faster. Almost at my goal!

Honest question cos I don't understand how poor people are buying this soup when 1 can is $2.49 in Canada and it's cheaper to make soup when using frozen vegetables

How cheap is it in the USA?

Every time one of these comes to light, I become so incensed. I have a really difficult time claiming my Indigenous roots and I have a verified family tree cos I was raised white and these people just have an "I was told"

I wish there was a non Postmedia article about what Eby had to say today on Power and Politics.

Anyway, this is such BS. Mo doesnt get to be angry with BC and Eby when he does shit like this

There needs to be a some balance here. I have a parent who gets involuntary care. They are one of those rare instances where they are extremely dangerous, criminal but not responsible, and someone will die without care. This isnt hyperbole. This issue isnt black and white
BC is one of the few jurisdictions (the only jurisdiction?) in Canada where if you're hospitalized against your will they can automatically treat you against your will. That's being challenged in court.
