i worked at the NYT and one of the grossest tricks they pull is convincing people to take mediocre compensation in exchange for "the mission", pretending they're a smol bean non-profit like propublica or something and not a publicly traded entity controlled by one dynastic family

What sticks out to me is how absolutely unafraid of prosecution this psychopath is. Part of it is narcissistic personality disorder, but it's mostly the perceived weakness of Democrats. Should they retake power, no one expects Democrats to hold anyone accountable.
