Me to person clearing off their windows, while they're parked on the sidewalk: "You're parked on the sidewalk."

Boomer: "I know I'm just trying to clear the snow from my windows."

Me, not stopping: "Should have done that before you started driving, lady."

Boomer: *shocked pikachu face. *

It's SO EASY to make sides GF or Vegan if you've got anyone coming with sensitivities.

Make most food work for everyone and then have a couple things for specific folks. (My MIL can't do soy, so she doesn't have the Furkey, but she makes meat for the meat eaters. All sides are vegan.)
LISTEN UP BUCKAROOS. honestly as vegetarian it is my number one rare and appreciated holiday situation to show up and discover that the stuffing was specifically made in a way that vegetarian and vegan buckaroos can eat it too, and this is so easy to do
Thoroughly endorse Chuck's recommendation to make your stuffing meatless if you're having any vegans or vegetarians at your holiday meals. You shouldn't be cooking it inside the bird anyway, and it tastes just as good made with veggie stock.

Happy Birthday Mayfair!

93 years young.
This sneaks up on us every year, as we're busy with the ins-&-outs of running a cinema...it's our birthday today!
Tonight we've got three acclaimed award winners with The Baltimorons, The Mastermind, & Tangerine!
Plus, we proudly present Seven Minutes In The Closet, a short from one of our staff!

Just realized that Sirens fans (PWHL) chant "Let's Go Sirens! Wee Oooo Wee Ooooo!"

Because it's a siren.

(Let me tell you about the time I realized movies are called that because they MOVE.)

This morning's walk to work was a wool base layers, wool blend button up, THICK wool sweater (lopi), wool socks, and wool toque kind of morning.

I did toss my denim jacket over the top though. My ski stuff is down in storage still.

So early for this cold.

Pedestrian beg button on the Southeast side of Isabella at O'Connor was not working this morning. (Possibly frozen?) And you HAVE to press the button there to get a light.

Trying to do a 311 report and there is no option for malfunctioning buttons?

My one and ONLY note.... That actually looks more like a Gardein Turk'y Roast... not a Tofurky.

I don't always like bad movies, but when I do, it's usually because of MST3K.

We've been to 4 live events (technically one was RiffTrax), and every single one was amazing.

(Wish I had a better photo of my suit though.)

Woody The Talking Tree has awakened from his slumber to usher in another Christmas season.
While he may seem slightly unsettling, all Woody asks for is Cinnabon sacrifices.
But where did he come from?
This is the story of Woody The Talking Tree.

Pumped up before today's commute.

<20PSI on 1.75" tires was decidedly not fun, but the (proper) 65PSI was much nicer! Didn't feel like I was riding through sand nearly as much.
First commute on the winter bike today and oof... I should have actually pumped up those tires instead of "ehn, feels fine."

Also really gotta get the seat post unstuck, it's far too low. Felt like a clown bike. (I keep it lower than any of my other bikes for ease of putting a foot down.)

It is time.
Just because my eyes are closed doesn’t mean I can’t hear conversations, Pam.
Spoiler: He will actually not appreciate matching novelty vests as an early Christmas gift.

So I guess this is why I haven't been nearly hit damn near every day when biking or walking in front of the Sonder at O'Connor and Gladstone.

It shut on Sept 29.
Guests forced out as Sonder shuts down Ottawa suites without warning
Travellers were told to vacate Sonder’s downtown Ottawa suites with less than 24 hours’ notice.

It's remote clicker on the Kobo while being fully covered up to the neck by blankets while reading in bed while a cat and/or a dog lay on my legs season and I couldn't be happier.

I love biking for fun and exercise.

I also love biking for transportation and errands. Once I have better storage, I do want to get a nice e bike.

Not owning a car can make certain things more difficult, but the cost savings are incredible.
I've always wondered why so many "enthusiast" type cyclists (roadies, MTBers) don't own and use cargo bikes for daily errands.

I mean, clearly you love bikes. Seems weird to me that you wouldn't want more reasons to ride bikes. velo.outsideonline.com/urban/urban-...
Why We're Ditching Cars for Cargo Bikes (And Why You Should Too)
Cargo bikes are cheaper, faster for short trips, and more fun than the family SUV. Here's why you should make the change.

"... Iconic destinations."

Except they won't do anything to actually make it easier to get to (fix transit). Or nicer to be a human in (remove personal vehicles). Or a place for local businesses ($$$$ rent.)
Council Update: The finalized plan to redevelop Lansdowne was approved by Council today.
Lansdowne 2.0 will bring modern sports and entertainment facilities, retail, housing, and revitalized public spaces to one of #OttCity’s most iconic destinations.

Woah woah woah. Just had a thought.

Does Bill 60 also mean that roads can't be closed to vehiclular traffic for *temporary* bike lanes (ie. NCC bike days, CN Ride for CHEO, etc.)
