I'm planning on reading James by Percival Everett. I'm wondering if I should read Huckleberry Finn first. I haven't read it since high school. I love Twain's writing, so... I guess I answered my own question.

Mike Flanagan's adaptation for The Life of Chuck is getting a lot of early praise. I love the novella, and I can't wait for its June 6th wide release.

Writers, just as you should always backup your writing, make sure you backup your publishing contracts. Print them out. Store them some place handy for when you'll need to refer to the contracted terms regarding rights and payment.

I started Werner Herzog's memoir, Every Man for Himself and God Against All. I'm listening to the audiobook specifically because he also narrates it. So far, it's as good as I'd hoped. www.amazon.com/Every-Man-Hi...

Awesome used bookstore haul. Any recommendations from this pile? I've read and enjoyed other works by Harlan Ellison, Tim O'Brien, Pat Frank, and Graham Greene.

Random Gen-Xer thought... The people in the music video for the Bloodhound Gang's "The Bad Touch" are probably all grandparents by now and they watch the Discovery Channel because they're into true crime and learning about serial killers.

I've been a procrastinator for most of my life. I am now about a month ahead in my master's coursework. You know what? Being ahead is just as stressful.
Or maybe it's just me?

Haha, I used to sell books hand over fist. When I make my return to publishing, I wonder how much will have changed. It'll be like starting over.

Next year, Ron Chernow's book about Twain will be published. Ken Follett's historical saga about Stonehenge will also debut.
Well, that's about 2000 pages of my 2025 reading total already sorted.

Amazon sent me a recall notice for the bluetooth speaker I bring into the sauna. I've used the sauna at 150 degrees for about 3 hours a week for that time period. The recall is because the battery might overheat.
Hmm... I think I'm fine?

Christmas Story is probably my favorite Christmas movie of the last 20 years. It's pretty widely available to stream. If you have a chance to watch it, it's well worth the time.

I'm excited about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. I don't play video games very much, but when I do, I like open worlds where I can either wander around and explore or follow quests depending on my mood. I'm also looking forward to punching some Nazis. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuji...

I have an urge to reread some classic Barker. Should I read my ratty paperback of Weaveworld, or my 1st edition? Do you read 1st editions, or just let them look pretty on your bookshelf?
