A year ago today, a bunch of horror readers celebrated #SGJDay to honor Stephen Graham Jones' 30 years as a published author and the reissue of 6 classic out-of-print @sgj.bsky.social books. We even made commemorative pins 😄
Well, 2025 has turned out to be even BIGGER for Stephen and his readers!

@lairdbarron.bsky.social fans know who Jessica M is - just check the dedication in his last few books - but do you know @jessicamace.bsky.social is here on BlueSky? I've had the good fortune of chatting with her a handful of times and she is AWESOME ⭐

It's challenging to tease out a fave story from SWIFT TO CHASE because the brilliant complexity within any given story from @lairdbarron.bsky.social's prior 3 collections expands and gets distributed among most of the stories in StC. But my #1 might be "Ears Prick Up" which intros cyber war-dog Rex🐕

I've got a real soft spot in my heart for that story. The wildness, the paranormal, and especially the heartbreak.

My first time having the title story:

@aardvarkbookclub.bsky.social delivers! I got their new original horror anthology, ONE BAD NIGHT, including @sgj.bsky.social's title story! Order yours as part of their monthly book box club at aardvarkbookclub.com/one-bad-nigh...

“The Men from Porlock” is a Top Ten horror tale, along with SGJ’s “Father, Son, Holy Rabbit” and Stephen King’s “The Jaunt.” Add in “Hand of Glory,” “Blackwood’s Baby,” “The Siphon”… This book should be on every horror reader’s shelf. “Siphon” has one of the best humans-meet-their-doom scenes ever.

Mysterium Tremendum and the title story are my favorites until I reread “The Broadsword” and “—30—“ which then become my favorites 😵‍💫

The only correct answer is ALL OF THEM!!
But if I had to choose, probably "The Imago Sequence." In an interview, @lairdbarron.bsky.social commented on the end of the story, clarifying something I had totally missed. It suddenly snapped in place, the final moment of stark horror that ends the tale.
