Keir Starmer had a hilarious Christmas message for Reform UK and it was so good even people who don’t like the PM were cheering

I've had a whole weekend off parenting for the first time ever. 4 complete days from Saturday midday to Wednesday afternoon. Feels like respite. Even thought it was Tuesday already. Still two whole nights to myself. Incredible.

Ahh I remember seeing this many years ago. Can't remember if it was this exact pub but definitely somewhere near Cambridge.

The centuries-old game of 'Ringing the Bull' — the aim of which is to send a metal ring dangling on a cord from the ceiling onto a metal hook on the wall — is in full swing at The Blue Ball in Grantchester.
Picture from my new book 'Cambridge - Light & Shade'.

This is so interesting. What was the financial arrangement here? Id love to know the facts. Evelyn Waugh's previous mansion rented for £250 per annum, through a company, run by a friend of the tenants, which then went bust.

So I was checking out an address for friends who have moved to a newish estate... and all the names of the streets are tv detectives.

The more stories I read about out of control kids (my own kid is out of control) the more I wonder if parents circa 2015 - 2020 were exposed to something they shouldn't have been. Just cannot imagine my grandparents generation being so wild at such a young age. But maybe they were. I wouldn't know.

Remember that article that was something like 'Liz Truss rejected me and it ruined my marriage.' what on earth was the point of that?

A client I didn't think was going to pay (only a few hours work) has actually paid me, albeit 3 weeks late. Still, a nice surprise.

Going to have to drag myself through another working day. Not in the mood.

I need to start dating again. God knows when I would ever have the time to meet someone or socialise, but I can't be a recluse my entire life. Or can I? Maybe I can.

Maybe I should.

We've created a world where people with ADHD and autism aren't valued or accepted and now the government is wondering why there's a crisis. Lol.

This was absolutely brilliant. Interestingly it says not for sale in the US on the back but it did become available there at some point in the last 32 years.

Managed to splice the Christmas tree lights back together after the rabbits chewed through them. Impressed with myself.

When I met my husband, the date wasn't great, the sex was also mediocre but he made the bed in the morning and then made me breakfast. Married for 36 years now.

I like the idea. I just think it would have been better if they hadn't used AI. Like when CGI was absolute dog shit and use of props was apparently too old hat even though the visual quality was infinitely better. What's the point of doing it this way? Where's the benefit?
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

Designed that way so you have to pay someone to fix things. Designed user incompetence. Same with reliance on purchasing to problem solve.
For a while, they said if you needed tech help, ask a 10yo. But current 10-20yos didn't have to explore and click around and futz with things to get them to work, so if it's not immediately obvious, they can't do it.

Basically if you're 30-50 you're just doing tech support for everyone forever.
What we say is their kids know the tech of a phone. If it’s not on the phone they struggle
