The main thing about parenting that I'm still coming to terms with is having to buy them an entirely new wardrobe of clothes every year. Maybe we should all go back to wearing multiple layers of cloth that we can altered as needed.

I've had a whole weekend off parenting for the first time ever. 4 complete days from Saturday midday to Wednesday afternoon. Feels like respite. Even thought it was Tuesday already. Still two whole nights to myself. Incredible.

This is so interesting. What was the financial arrangement here? Id love to know the facts. Evelyn Waugh's previous mansion rented for £250 per annum, through a company, run by a friend of the tenants, which then went bust.

The more stories I read about out of control kids (my own kid is out of control) the more I wonder if parents circa 2015 - 2020 were exposed to something they shouldn't have been. Just cannot imagine my grandparents generation being so wild at such a young age. But maybe they were. I wouldn't know.
