This week, MAGA figures claimed Kristi Noem "stared down" violent antifa protesters in Portland. Turns out they were talking mostly about a guy in a chicken suit.

This episode opens a window into how MAGA propaganda works and MSM failure to handle it. 1/

MAGA Implodes over Kristi Noem’s “Stare Down” with Man in Chicken Suit
A good New York Times piece on Portland nevertheless demonstrates how the conventions of objective reporting fail to accurately capture the bad faith driving pro-Trump propaganda.

Great news! 24,000 donors have raised over $567,000 within 24 hrs of Letitia James’ indictment. Mamdani also summoned what is known as the sisterhood of Black elected officials in NYC to lend their support. I look forward to her victory. ❤️‍🔥 #Pinks #SheShed

Right now driving a wedge between Trump and Miller, and exploiting Trump's paranoia, should be top priority.

Join Us: Paper Clip Protest
Let's all start wearing paper clips.
During World War Il, people wore paper clips as a powerful symbol of resistance against the Nazis.
Norwegian teachers and students attached them to their lapels, symbolizing solidarity that connected them just like paper clips hold papers together.
Today, we wear the paper clip for the same purpose. It acts as a quiet yet strong signal to others that we are united, that we oppose the takeover of our country by a petty tyrant, and that we are standing firm against the destruction of our democracy.
Wherever you go, when you see a paper clip on someone's lapel, you'll know you have an ally.

I have a very personal experience with this issue. By the time my partner was ready for MAID, he was too far gone to pass the preliminary test. He went through end-of-life treatment. I will live with the pain & anguish that such a treatment entails for the rest of my life. Don’t wish that on anyone.

Trump openly promising mass firings of civil servants “because they’re Democrats” is pure authoritarianism. The civil service exists to be nonpartisan—to protect the country, not Trump’s ego.

Q: "How many layoffs have you authorized?"

Trump: "A lot. It will be Democrat oriented...They should be Democrat oriented. It will be a lot and we'll announce the numbers over the next couple of days, but it will be a lot of people...Many of them will be fired."

I've been saying this exact thing in talks. They are breaking things that aren't easy to fix. And in some cases, like civil rights, destroying a legacy that took a couple of centuries to build, and don't have a ton of buy-in from dems, even if they get power back.
