These are great! I need to look more into this; I had a filament printer yeaaars ago (early adopter got frustrated by poor tech) and now I want to go with resin to get the higher resolution and smoother prints … I just have no idea where to start!

Thermal batteries can supply heat to lower temp processes, such as district heating; it’s not limited to high temps. This isn’t an ideal case, but successful commercialization should be lauded [see: “Pornainen sand battery”], and *any* offset of fossil-based heat (e.g. nat gas boilers) is a win!

Thanks to Erin, this post has prompted me to insist on plain bagel, plain cream cheese, red onion, capers, and (light) lox for Sunday breakfast. And much love to my wife, who said she’d go get it. Also, my brother who lives in Jackson Heights wouldn’t even vote for me, so political office be damned!

Fascinating. I’m 53 and Tron was such an influence that I can hear the soundtrack in my head without even trying. Tron wasn’t just cool with me and my friends, it was almost life changing - the idea of Flynn directed many of us toward computer-based careers. What a difference 3 years makes!

I'm perplexed at watching pundits in the trades struggling to explain Tron Ares' disappointing opening.

Was it covid? Do people just not like science fiction? etc. etc.

The main reason is pretty obvious: Tron isn't a popular franchise. Nobody's interested in nostalgia for a failed 1980s project.

I have roughly 20. They’re a bit like potato chips, in that I find it hard to have just one, but then I spend so much time cleaning my hands after using them. (Actually, just after cleaning and refilling!) My biggest issue with them is that sometimes I leave one too long and it dries out…
