The American Presidency Can Never Be Trusted Again
It’s time for multiparty democracy and a limited executive.

Definitely a lot more to walk out of your door and go do than HP or UP
As child of the Dallas suburbs and a Dallas proper-ite now, I will say that I enjoy my QOL in and around the M Streets, Henderson, Greenville area in east Dallas. But I’m 28 with no kids, so walking to a bar from my house at 5 on a weekday is my version of peak QOL.

glancing through this, it basically follows that path of ilan wurman's "scholarship," ignoring the actual text and legislative record in favor of the basic assertion that the plain meaning of the text *can't* be true.
24 states have filed a brief at the Supreme Court in support of the Trump administration's effort to curb birthright citizenship, suggesting that it is not correct to say the issue is "settled and beyond debate."

Might be in a-fib. Do you have an Apple Watch? It can do an EKG on you and tell you if you’re in a-fib.

Pritzker: Throughout history we've learned that tyranny doesn't arrive with dramatic proclamations. Most times it comes quietly wrapped in the language of law and order, with fingers pointed at someone who doesn't look like you, promising safety while demanding that we sacrifice our neighbors.

No one is above the law, except for every single Republican politician and activist convicted of a crime over the last decade because Trump has pardoned all of them or commuted their sentences.

Again, this is a liquidation of the union in all but letter of the law. This is reverse secessionism engineered by a central government.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.

I think it is about time that Democrats started familiarizing themselves with Lincoln’s response to Dred Scott instead of accepting the tacit premise that whatever a bare majority of the Supreme Court decides, dictates our constitutional fate
Segregationists spoke of the “long civil rights movement” as the “Second Reconstruction” and for inspiration turned to the Redemptionists, who declared war on the first Reconstruction and after many decades of legal and extralegal efforts Installed

Some Democrats who have no real ambitions to lead the party should say it openly in order to stop it in its tracks. Trump isn’t going to pardon everybody necessary to carry it out.

Bernie should say it out loud. Make some people pause

this white house actively treats a large swath of americans as disloyal and outside the political community and it doesn’t merit so much as a peep from the political press

The prerogative state (whims of the Leader) is crowding out the normative state (the rule of law). That's how fascism works.

The White House Antifa Roundtable is one of the best displays I’ve seen of this-is-how-bad-it’s-gotten — just a sewer of open fascism, dementia, morons and freaks, and incoherent rage.
If your claim is that a neighborhood in rural Mississippi is as poor as Cuba then you should have said that. That is probably true!

The idea that the US as a whole is as poor as Cuba (or some other unnamed “third world countries”) is…much less supported.
Your claim was originally about “the US”. Now you’re talking about the “deep south”.

So is the idea that only some parts of the US would appear as poor as certain third world countries (Cuba, e.g.)? Because I think most people would probably agree with that claim.
