want to give special props for whoever chose the thumbnails on pbs.org for the reruns of forgotten public television gameshow "The Pennsylvania Game"

I'm radicalized the exact correct amount (have seen multiple progressive cartoons)

it's a case study in how an obsession with crossovers and lore references flattens a hobby into almost nothing

I have had this same thought re: magic the gathering, which by turning into a franchise crossover game has transformed "content creators"/influencers into free marketing. Because what is there to say about a Spider-Man set but "this card reference X, this other card references Y, etc"?

want to make a commercial game in 2025? Step 1: hire a full-time social media and community manager, step 2: retain a lawyer specializing in harassment and stalking, step 3: hire an information security expert to protect your identity and various accounts,

Bluesky deleted my post complaining about the CEO lol. I did not delete it myself! Full on Lowtaxing from Jay here.

Apologies if I'm stating the obvious but have you tried Deep Sky Stacker? Was easy for me as a relatively non-technical PC user

Bluesky almost successfully launched paid subscriptions, almost unthinkable on a social network, except management decided it was more important to defend transphobes. You can hardly measure the level of bag fumbling here

This feels of a piece with other marketing for Japanese media, which is they thought Americans would mostly be baffled by it, so the ads are all about how weird it is (which is what I assume this ad is saying?????)

I think he was "merely" a creepy weirdo toward some women and not accused of assault specifically (damning by faint praise I know), I have also been surprised to see him pop back up though

"Chardonnay set" is such a funny term to use in 2025, like they are laser-targeting boomer audiences who checked out of culture in 1994

Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Fox: "We're announcing today expanded programs to help the American coal industry. We're helping it because for years it has been under assault. It was out of fashion with the chardonnay set in San Francisco, Boulder, and NYC ... coal just makes the world go round."

that sounds snotty to those games in particular, I just mean there's always an unstated list of games that are rightfully released, as if they are the first ones in the bucket and it's only the ones that fall on top that are the "too many"

I generally do believe we have oversaturation problems (in a commercial, not creative sense) but it's always funny how writers take for granted that, well, clearly the problem isn't Hades 2 or Silksong, THOSE are the correct games to be popular
