I have had this same thought re: magic the gathering, which by turning into a franchise crossover game has transformed "content creators"/influencers into free marketing. Because what is there to say about a Spider-Man set but "this card reference X, this other card references Y, etc"?

that sounds snotty to those games in particular, I just mean there's always an unstated list of games that are rightfully released, as if they are the first ones in the bucket and it's only the ones that fall on top that are the "too many"
