back in the day if you got caught trying to film people on the down-low you'd get dragged into the street and beaten and in many ways i think that's more significantly more civilized than tolerating this shit

Social media is awash with videos of men filming themselves approaching women in public spaces and attempting to flirt. In many cases, the videos are filmed and uploaded without the women’s consent. https://cnn.it/4qtIsvB

Starting to get really fucking irritated that ICE in Minnesota isn't still the top story everywhere all the time.

My man, Markey. He'll always get my vote.
I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

Worth watching this in full. The statement is more powerful than this quote alone. Here is is from USA Today, with alt text.

Also! Rich Ruohonen is a personal injury lawyer and the oldest athlete to ever represent the United States in a Winter Games at 54 years old.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.
US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

Hart and the AI LLM tech bros don't understand artists who create because they want to make art, that there are people who write to communicate ideas to other people who want to interact with art to understand other people better.

Of course we want to make money, but not at the expense of humanity.
<< “If I can generate a book in a day, and you need six months to write a book, who’s going to win the race?” Hart told the NYT. >>

Honey. You assume we are racing. I am not in this race. I don't want to be in a race. I am creating art.
The article describes a ‘smut’ writer producing a book in 45 mins with AI, and generates a six figure income from her writing. We are racing to the bottom. Are readers really that gullible? I guess so. futurism.com/artificial-i... #Author #Writer #Writing #WritingCommunity #BlueSky #BookSky #AI

Like Kendrick, political as hell precisely because it doesn't bother to acknowledge the haters. They're irrelevant, beneath attention. And nothing is more intolerable to fascists than the thought that their enemies are cool, enjoying themselves, and not thinking about them.

Feeling bad for anyone who had to pretend to like Kid Rock's halftime show, while we were watching Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga, and Cardi B put on the best dance party any Super Bowl has ever seen.

It's almost as if everything from bitcoin to AI to everything in late-stage capitalism is a pyramid scheme that's collapsing under the weight of its own delusion.
Hey so just wondering if we’ve considered having an economy that *isn’t* almost entirely based around deranged hype-fueled grifts, that’s the only economy I’ve ever experienced but I feel like there’s gotta be a better option

Generally speaking, the minute you see the word “Fabio” attached to an article about romance other than as history, you can throw the entire thing into the garbage. It’s a sneer, designed as communication from one person who thinks romance is stupid to another.
fuck this lady, fuck the nyt reporter, fuck all of this. fuck amazon for introducing the KU page read model that makes this possible, fuck our tech overlords.

RFK Jr on what he'll eat during the Super Bowl: "I am on a carnivore diet so I just eat meat and ferments, and I'm very happy with that. So I'm probably going to have yogurt."

And also, just like all fucking generative AI, this is just massive, scaled-up theft. This woman is functionally stealing money out of the KU pool from authors who are writing and publishing their own original works USING A TOOL that was itself built on stolen works.
