saw someone call schumer cowardly and chide him for lacking the backbone to call for ICE to be abolished, & it must once again be pointed out that that is untrue. he is not trying to oppose the republicans and failing, he is on the same team as the republicans, and his enemy is you

Y'all need to get on this channel,
the Defunctland of board games.
this also includes: who created Howdy Doody, the disputed credit for Connect Four, why there were so many plastic dexterity games in the 60s & 70s, how Disney & Kenner tried & failed to manufacture a fandom, and why Parker Brothers is no longer around.
I wanted to know who designed an old board game I loved. I found out he made over fifty games he was never credited for, in a career spanning more than three decades.

ICE & U.S. Customs & Border Protection employed at least 30 people with sexual & violent criminal histories in recent years.

At least 20 agents committed offenses with underage victims. The bulk of abuse happened within the last two years.

This article includes names of the agents.
Here’s How Many ICE and CBP Agents Allegedly Preyed on Children
Apparently the institutions are riddled with accused sex criminals.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Today’s retreat is absolutely an attempt to take pressure off of Congress to rein in ICE so that a funding package can get through.

That pressure has been effective. We can celebrate Minneapolis’ win but we need to keep the pressure on. They’re not going to stop forever.

Trump reassigning cosplaying Nazi Greg Bovino to another city and sending Tom Homan to run the ICE operations in Minnesota is meaningless BS! This is akin to Jefferson Davis changing generals because there are loses--not because there is a change of heart. Trump is still waging a war upon us!

Bovino out is a great indicator. It’s a great start. But none of us can be appeased right now. It’s still abolish ICE. It’s still prosecute these fascists. It’s still destroy the whole apparatus that has been terrorizing and disappearing and murdering our neighbors.

If Trump backs down and pulls goons out of Minnesota, that is not a victory.

If ICE’s funding is held up, that is not a victory.

If a few specific ICE agents get thrown under the bus, that is not a victory.

Abolish ICE, hold all parties accountable, and stay angry until that happens.

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.
