This made me cry. Devastating
I wrote about my childhood friend Alexi Pretti. Please read it and share it and remember him as a human being. @theverge.com
I grew up with Alex Pretti
The kind-hearted ICU nurse shot by ICE agents was my childhood best friend.

Not only do we deserve to celebrate wins for their own sake, loud and public celebration helps the cause. Celebration is strategic. Celebrate the fuck out of your wins.
I don't keep doomers in my feed but since apparently some folks do: "celebrate each and every win, loudly" is Organizing 101

The people of Minnesota did that. Not Schumer and Jeffries, not Walz and Frey, not the standard-bearers of decorum. The People.

Planning a family trip to Charleston and looking for recs!

Two important caveats- need places/activities that are accessible (not for wheelchair but where we can make frequent stops/rest) AND need vegetarian/preferably vegan options at restaurants

I am not vegan and want to try Gullah food as well

This is like those loosmaxxing forums where guys try to convince each other that punching themselves in the face is improving their bone structure.
A sentence from hell:
“people in SF are putting multi-agent claudeswarms in charge of their lives, consulting chatbots before every decision, wireheading to a degree only sci-fi writers dared to imagine.”

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

No, you really shouldn't start with your magnum opus. But I think a question you should ask yourself at the beginning of any project is: if something went wrong and this was my last work in comics, would I be happy with it. And I think you should focus on the projects where the answer is yes.
What advice would you give an aspiring comic creator? - 🦝
