Since when, exactly, does the President of the European Parliament personally sign laws into effect?
As I told President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in our discussion at the Munich Security Conference this afternoon, in the next days, on behalf of @europarl.europa.eu, I will sign into law the €90 billion solidarity loan to Ukraine.

Europe stands with the people of Ukraine with concrete action.

Five European nations have determined that Russia poisoned Alexei Navalny.

This was a cowardly act from a frightened leader.

Russia has long acted as a terrorist state, relying on terrorist methods.

Poisoning political opponents.
Silencing journalists.
Invading peaceful neighbors.

Is Europe's push for competitiveness, shrouded in increasingly incomprehensible lingo, going to cut it with the citizens? I doubt it. So does @cspillmann.bsky.social in today's "Morning Post Europe", with @davidcarretta.bsky.social et moi. europemorningpost.substack.com/p/can-europe...

For those of you keeping score at home, the actual cut to the Post newsroom was 45%, not the widely reported one third. Remaining journalists are a bit over 400, down from around 1100 four years ago and 580 when Bezos bought the place.

Capital market integration could be a suitable candidate for enhanced cooperation: nine members will be found, it is not an exclusive competence of the EU and does not have to constitute a barrier or discrimination.

This is excellent, investigative reporting by the @wsj.com, by the way. Lots of nuggets in there. E.g. Noem not signing off on an order of bulk construction steel for months which meant its cost for the taxpayer went up by $100m.
Keystone Kop Kristi Noem fired a Coast Guard pilot bc she forgot her blanket on his flight, then had to reinstate him bc there was no one else to fly her home...& other things KKKristi gets up to while she's not busy torturing immigrants in concentration camps, per WSJ.

This is a very astute analysis of the new two-speed Europe taking shape.
This framing of 'the EU has never done multiple speed Europe' seems like a product of way too short institutional memory.

Since the 1980s, major EU integration often happened in avantgarde groups, be it the Euro, Schengen, EU Patent, EU Public Prosecutor. The real change is a different one.
The EU has always prided itself on its members all moving forward as one. That era is over.
