As we are approaching the peak of #autumn, I present 4 previously unpublished photos of a seasonal illumination event at Kodaiji Temple in eastern #Kyoto some years ago. Details in ALT.

Arriving on the premises of Kodaiji. Many people flock to these "light-ups" (as they are called in Japanese) at the peak of the season. At the Dry Garden (karesansui) of Kodaiji, there was a vibrant illumination with a rotation of striking colors. The colorful reflections off the still surface of the pond were the highlight of the visit for me. There is a small bamboo forest on the temple premises, that was also illuminated to great effect.
