I never got to talk to him, my manager did though, guy talked a lot
He owned a LOT of custom gretsch including the Tennessee rose that was eventually in crazy heart
Which if i remember just has custom supertrona and a thin bigsby arm
Also,bragged about his vibrolux a lot, handwired vintage etc etc

My favorite story from working in a music store, Jeff Bridges, the actor would order guitars from us simi regularly because my manager had a good relationship with Gretsch, and he LOVED Gretsch

You can read it all, they released it
It's not like poorly written but intentional
