Translation: If you call the agent who murdered someone a “murderer,” it is just going to lead to them murdering more people. Don’t call it “murder” and then all the people they kill won’t have been murdered and people won’t be infuriated

Haven't watched the final season of Stranger Things yet, but it would be awesome if in the final episode Will dies & then Hopper says, “Well that was a big waste of time.” And then everyone laughs. Dissolve to a demogorgon watching the scene on TV, a bowl of popcorn in his lap, smiling happily.

Teaching is the greatest privilege imaginable. It's hard & draining, but in doing this work we unlock in young people the limitless power of their own educability—that which makes us human. That so many professors dedicate themselves to trying to get out of teaching is perennially disappointing.
