I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

But in order for that to happen we have to actually fund language preservation projects. We need to fund living human beings from indigenous groups to make those choices about if and how and when and where to document their culture.

Assuming a machine can preserve meaning is the destructive thing.

Liam was taken from Columbia Heights, the town just south of my high school in Fridley and just north of the Arts district in NE Minneapolis. I spent a lot of time with friends there after extracurriculars. News of his abduction completely broke my heart. I’m glad he’s home. #Comics4Liam

If you got the means to do so you should definitely have these books on a shelf.
My 3 bibles lol. I picked up Tekkonkinkreet & the Shuichi art book while in Japan last yr, pure gold mines of inspiration.

These are the absolute masters you should be studying, especially if you’re a texture artist for environment art!

I hit 10k followers so let’s have some fun sharing. Don’t share your self but share the artists on here you respect and follow. Highlight your fellow devs and creatives and just lift others and get them a chance to be seen and grow their own followers hopefully.

Let’s keep it safe and no ai

It’s gratifying to spend time digging into peoples old art posts that can be years old with no shares and then you do the first and then it shows up multiple times in the timeline as others also share it and give it a chance to be seen. Sharing art is easy and makes a difference so consider it.

This is a feature of iOS (not bsky) that’s been around for a while. It’s not offering to upload your location with the photo, it’s offering to strip the location information OUT of the images you’re uploading. Location would have optionally been stored in metadata when a photo was taken.

I think I want to go over the four film collection "When Horror Came to Shochiku" soon. They are a good porthole into film history in Japan at the time. They're also each pretty unique. The films are from '67 - '68.

Goke, Body Snatcher from Hell

Remember it’s called “Portfolio” day and a portfolio is about you at your best not what’s new. Too often I see artists sad they got nothing new to show and you need to stop that mindset. It’s your best showing what you’re capable of and that never ages. Good work get framed and put on display.
The next #PortfolioDay is just a few days away on Tuesday, January 13th! Get those portfolios ready!

Go to portfolioday.art for more info!

Good luck! 💛
