I keep thinking about how terrible it is that so many people will be losing their health insurance in January due to costs and cuts. I was rejected from insurance once before the ACA [preexisting conditions]. I was hospitalized that year and it almost bankrupted me. We need universal heathcare ASAP.

How abt we act from the assumption that #TFG & his minions break the law every time they do something? If we change our orientation to this assumption, would it make we the people more effective at shutting allllllll of his 💩 down? Would it lead to accountability for #TFG & his minions faster?

MAGAZINER: How many veterans have you deported?

NOEM: We haven't deported veterans

MAGAZINER: We are now joined on Zoom by a combat veteran you deported to Korea

Sending big thanks to @codepink.bsky.social #ProtestingPriest who tried to exorcize Kristi Noem in the HHSC hearing today.

Srsly, to shout "The power of Christ compels you" & thrust fwd a wooden cross as security forces him out of the hearing room... I had no idea how much I needed to see that.

This entire country is dysregulated. No one should be surprised by the levels of dysregulated behaviors we are seeing in schools, on the roads, in various third places and spaces that fill the void left by a lack of safe third spaces.

We are experiencing a civil war. Not one fought with guns and bullets but one fought with paper in legislatures and courts.

The country has fractured into Blue and Red states, where your rights and protections vary widely. We are no longer one country, but two.

Yes. We must extend the ACA tax credits so that over 20 million Americans don't see a doubling in their health premiums, on average. But we must do more. We cannot remain the only major country not to guarantee health care for all as a human right.

We must pass Medicare for All.

Please. We are not okay. And the longer this drags on, the more "not okay" we become.
can we skip to the part where the union dissolves or there’s a new constitutional convention or something this is exhausting

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

Okay, Texas. It's your turn. Help the rest of the country out and elect @jasmineforus.bsky.social to the US Senate in 2026. That "most deliberative" body needs some energy and clarity of purpose abd @crockett.house.gov has both in abundance.

TX, I implore you! Vote for Jasmine Crockett for Senate!

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

This country is unrecognizable. I hate saying this but the big negative economic impact has not yet hit. It will, and we need to use it as an opportunity for a progressive overhaul when it does. There's room for moderates but not corporate shills like Manchin & Sinema.

“Strong floor, no ceiling” is the type of slogan that resonates with wealthy centrist political commentators, not everyday people who are actually your voters. What does that mean to someone who is struggling to afford rent, groceries, insurance? This is why Zohran’s policy slogans were so effective

The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.

They're not hiding it, folks—straight up neo-Nazi advertising, from the font to the language to the 11 stars for the Confederacy. Then you have the DHS openly using white nationalist language of "remigrate", which means ethnic cleansing.

This is who MAGA is now.

Today, it's crickets and war crimes.

WTF? Get to the 25th for the love of land and sea!

Srsly, we need to get the Article 2 people out along w the MAGA majority, all of whom need to go from office to prison. Now!

Trump will only be more dangerous the more unpopular he becomes and the more cornered he feels.

He and his collaborators will rush to try to implement their agenda and to consolidate their power further.
Trump claims “any document” signed by Joe Biden is “hereby terminated.”

He calls out executive orders later but obviously “any document” would be much broader and include legislation.

(He can’t legally do that but, as always, we get to watch how far he can push this without repercussions)
