Rewarding failure is sadly how Ireland works
€100k salary rise for the Irish Water boss, yet estates like these 10 homes outside Cork city rot in a housing emergency because of a dysfunctional water system, whilst many live with dirty water every day

Joe Biden’s fatal flaw was relying on the reluctant institutionalist Merrick Garland to prosecute the case of insurrectionist Donald J Trump. Had Garland done his job, Trump would have been banned from office and America and the world would not be in this predicament.

The reason people don't vote for Democrats is because they know this is who they are. If you needed to have it spelled out for you this dramatically in a period of violent rupture, well, that's on you.

"They should coordinate with local law enforcement, pick these people up in the middle of the night when they're not suspecting it"

Walz is capitulating to fascists and encouraging night raids. Genuinely disgusting. Why would anyone settle for this?

"DHS has an incredibly violent history. What we’re seeing play out in our cities feels like the natural progression of militarizing our police forces, providing endless taxpayer dollars at the expense of schools and social safety net programs."
Despite its press conference on Sunday and moment of silence, the PWHL denied us permission to speak with someone affiliated with the league who wanted to share with us on the subject of the violence in Minnesota.

Raises pretty significant questions about performativity and commitment to justice.

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

This is a nice example of Upper East Side politesse undermining a newspaper's basic task of conveying the truth. No one could look at the administration's statements and conclude that they tried to form a considered judgment, but that is too uncomfortable for the headline writers to acknowledge.
No, NYT. They didn’t “rush to judgement”. They lied.

We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.

My point is that the MFs who spearhead shit like a Holocaust or a *gestures broadly to the current state of affairs* are always STEEPED in fuckshit and depravity. It oozes from their pores, damn near.
The nephew that hated Hitler, William (actually changed his name, moved Stateside and fought AGAINST the Nazis) used to say that his uncle and his cousin Geli had a weird relationship - she was apparently pregnant before she died. Hitler forbade her to have friends/relationships and kept her close.
“Uncles” are weird in the Hitler family; as we have seen Adolf’s adoptive granduncle may have in fact been his grandfather, his own mother may have been his daddy’s niece, and he himself was possessive and controlling of his niece Geli, who was living with him when she committed suicide at 23.
