Fantastic!
Just over thirty years ago, I was the only person to witness what was tantamount to a little piece of performance art by one of the greatest humorists of his generation – a piece of performance art predicated on a reference I didn't fully understand until yesterday afternoon. Let me explain.

Wonderful to see Gerry Love tonight in Manchester. Great set of Fanclub, Lightships, Moondog and one already classic-sounding new tune!

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has *v* strong ‘two years out of Belmarsh after a 35 year stretch for a Republican bombing he didn’t commit; now doing an extended interview with Krishnan Guru- Murthy about his forthcoming book of prison poetry and ‘script talks/improv sessions with Ken Loach’ energy.
I need @harrysword.bsky.social to do one of his semi-regular character portraits, but this time of Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Because, well, I mean.

Today I become a film star. Well, hardly, but the documentary based on my 2022 London theatre presentation Beatles/Evolver:62 is available from Amazon Prime, 108 minutes of surprising and engaging cultural history for the price of a coffee. In the UK the URL is www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/det...

Globally-renowned historian Mark Lewisohn weaves an array of short sharp stories into a savvy and surprising reveal of a band that's stayed both cutting-edge and massively popular, The Beatles.

The peculiar madness of this particular period in history is that *all* the people running the world into the weeds are exactly the malignant people they appear to be and precisely the kind of people 'we' think they are. This 'in hindsight' bullshit will not wash.
Wes Streeting saying on Today that Mandelson is ‘not the man we thought he was’ but the trouble is, he is exactly the man we thought, just on a much worse scale than almost anyone thought. And there is an alternative world where none of this is this govt’s problem, because they never gave him a job
