POV: you're shitting and the cat is way too big. The walls are closing in. Shouldn't have taken two tabs of acid, but you live on the edge. Also you listen to GUTTER podcast. It doesn't help with the trip. It makes it much worse. Though your soul -will- go to heaven so the trade-off is respectable.

I'm finally actually playing the Dirtbag Mahjong demo the way it's meant to be played: only barely knowing some things about mahjong and not reading the explanation.

I also need one about the mech combat sport dream I had, so that too.

Dreamt that the sea was rough. Then it was covering the third floor window of the building I was in. Then the floor above us was torn off the building entirely. Nothing in the world has ever happened so fast.

For a while I've been meaning to sit down and write some intro threads about my games. But what I really wish I could do is just collate all the vibe posts I've made about each of them because IMO that would give you a better understanding than just me explaining the premise.

This conversation feels very parallel to TTK in shooter games, where the viability of a weapon in a PVP sandbox is not how sleek the weapon's overall performance is, but how quickly it can kill a player.
An RPG's viability is not how sleek the rules are but how quickly a newbie can understand it.

The bait is me cheekily going “shadowrun is a rules light game” btw - I’ve taught enough people to play that I can say with confidence “its reputation is way overblown; the core is pretty simple and it’s mainly organization and presentation which is intimidating”, I can get folks rolling in minutes.

My favorite trick in music is when someone yells "GUITAR!" and it's the cue for the mildest, chilliest guitar solo possible. It's so funny every time. I don't even know if they're doing it as a bit.

working a comedy show. both the openers no-showed, so my coworker (not a comedian) got on stage, had the sound guy intro him with a godsmack song, read a chaucer poem in middle english, then said "well, that's my time," and introduced the headliner. bravest thing i've ever seen. very high-concept.
