I've noticed a lot of users are interested in joining some iteration of "resistance" to oppose fascists. Allow me to outline some first steps:

1. Cite your sources. And when someone asks you to, or when someone sources your claim for you, say thanks.

Fascists survive on mis- and dis-information.

Wild how people can't see the Islamophobia in this.

Notice there's not a single word to identify the masked scimitar wielder and yet we all know exactly what trope it's meant to represent.

Yeah, theocracy is bad. Xenophobia is a feature of theocracy. Kind of undermines your point, Andy Marlette.

The oligarch-backed establishment Dems have figured out a "winning" strategy!

Steal less than half of Bernie's platform from a decade ago and plug their ears about everything else like wars and ICE occupation!

#BlueFuckingWaveAreYouJoking
NEW: In this interview, Chuck Schumer describes the "five buckets" Dems think are key to their possibly winning a Senate majority in 2026: housing, "the high price of food [and] food monopolies playing a major role there," electricity, "the high cost of childcare," and health care.
Zero Chucks Left to Give
Chuck Schumer now sees a path back to the majority. Can he manage his way through it?

It's an open secret that multiple members of congress are planning to flee to Europe if things get really bad in the US (which of course would be entirely their fault).

Europe should make extremely clear that this is not a viable thing they can do.

Yes, people need to get this through their heads.

An ineffective leader is a convenient excuse for inaction that many members of congress welcome to shield them from personal liability.

The problem is with all of them.

Voting is the most basic accountability measure that exists for elected officials, but it's the bare minimum.

If you're not doing anything else, you are explicitly *not* "holding your representatives accountable".

You are sitting out and being politically disengaged.

I've just drafted an impeachment article against Donald Trump for threatening our allies with illegal seizure of territory.

Send this to your members of congress and demand they introduce it.

Plenty only oppose his methods and aesthetics, but not his mission.
I still think people are struggling to get that the Democrats are not actually unified in opposing Trump.

In fact many of them are perfectly fine with his behavior.
The shadow cabinet idea was a great idea and should have been implemented a year ago. Would have presented an organized, unified response to the chaos, issue by issue, by people with expertise.

There is almost no situation that is not helped by directly targeting members of congress for protest.

If y'all want to talk about distractions, this is what's actually being distracted from.

They want your ire aimed at anybody else.
You really just need to target the members of congress. Many of them are hoping to flee to Europe if they are threatened (again?) over here while they are too cowardly to act.

Make clear that is not an option.
This is 100% correct and the EU should do it immediately.

The USA will break if a bunch of entitled Americans suddenly can’t book get-aways in Paris.

There's no "allow" about it.

The words we use are important.

*They* are not *allowed* to restrict our speech except in narrow circumstances.

We are unencumbered and our right to protest is absolute.

The restrictions are *only* on *you*, the government.
BRENNAN: Noem called on your to set up a safe zone where protest would be contained. Is that something you're looking at?

JACOB FREY: First Amendment speech is not limited to one park or one section of the city. You're allowed to protest so long as you're doing it peacefully

The reason why everyone is pissed off at the Democrats over Greenland is they are literally proposing nothing?

It's literally always the same: for ANY issue they can hold up the floor, force debate, introduce votes, push to remove Trump, etc.

And they've decided they won't do that.

Here is the most important rule in politics:

If you want a thing just push for the thing.

All the rules about how you are not allowed to do that are made up and designed to prevent you from pushing for the thing.
