I've noticed a lot of users are interested in joining some iteration of "resistance" to oppose fascists. Allow me to outline some first steps:

1. Cite your sources. And when someone asks you to, or when someone sources your claim for you, say thanks.

Fascists survive on mis- and dis-information.
Like Jonathan Reed?
KARL: Watch this video of a woman who says she's disabled getting dealt with by ICE. What do you think?

McCAUL: Well, the optics aren't good

K: They smashed her windows & threw her to the ground

M: It appears to be a little overzealous, but what about the actions of murderers & drug traffickers?

2. I will not vote for, endorse, campaign for, or donate to any candidate or party that does not explicitly endorse FULL AND EQUAL RIGHTS to trans people in all areas of society.

I will write my own damn name on the ballot.

I'm not a full citizen, your tent isn't big enough. Period.

We need to get it through people's heads that these things ARE NOT PROTESTS.

They are regular people running around their city trying to protect their neighbors from being attacked and kidnapped by violent racist goons.

It is self defense. It is protection. It is taking care of your neighbors.

Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

They want so badly for this to be a relitigation of Black Lives Matter under the same logic as "we would have won in Vietnam if the politicians hadn't held our troops back".

Hard to tell how much of the lying about community defense being "protests" is cynical vs. high on their own supply.

For context, Mr. Rosenberg has spent two days now attacking the very people he initially claimed to be raising money for because they asked him for specifics on how the money was being allocated. One of them was a local elected official. He also has been insulting Minnesotans as a collective.
I work with state parties every single day. There are only a handful of national leaders who actually raise real money for the year organizing state parties do--Ken Martin (dnc chair), Simon Rosenberg (Hopium), Sen. Warren and Actblue. Come for Simon and you come for all of us.
I'm not interested in arguing with the good people of Minnesota, on the front lines, doing the hard work of protecting our democracy. I've worked hard to bring your bravery and courage to the world in recent weeks on Hopium.

But attacks like this are false, defamatory, and need to end. 1/

Or, if you want other places to send your money, check out standwithminnesota.com. ICE out of Minnesota!

Van Hollen is good at reading the room.

Let's hope he has the support of others to make this effective (and let's hope he follows through, of course).

I'm not done calling his office for a single moment.
Van Hollen: "I am not going to cast a vote -- not one dime -- to support this lawless, brutal Trump ICE operation"

I haven't seen the dunks but I will say that LOCAL CONDITIONS have to determine TACTICS. Folks, whistles are just a tactic and tactics vary according to context. Why waste time on this? If you've organized for 10 minutes, you know this is true. Keep it moving.
People are dunking on the posts from rapid response groups in the DC area about why they don’t use whistles

But those groups are making these kinds of decisions after talking with a whole bunch of people in the targeted communities. They’re not doing it arbitrarily

Abigail Spanberger did not end Virginia’s 287(g) partnership with ICE yesterday, despite reports to the contrary.

What Spanberger did do is rescind Glenn Youngkin’s order that required the state police + DOC to sign ICE contracts. She terminated the requirement, but not the contracts themselves.

Now is NOT the time to stop.

It's actually the time to ramp things up.

Keep going please.

I mean, if you do nothing to combat this,

then you *have* been intimidated. Saying the opposite means nothing.
Jacob Frey: "Right now we have about 600 police officers, and they've got 3,000 or so ICE agents and Border Patrol. They're now talking about deploying 1,500 military? This is ridiculous, but we will not be intimidated by the actions of this federal government."

ICE actions are not a radical break but an intensification and extension of bipartisan consensus on the need for punitive immigration policy. Since its post-9/11 creation, people have warned that the tools given to ICE would eventually be turned on citizens.
