Hi, I'm Melora, the main source of scanned #Zelda art & out-of-print publications since The Internet. I was also the lead campaigner for Zelda manga & art/info books to exist outside of Japan. Join me as I try to create a gallery of every piece of licensed Zelda art via collecting & with your help!
Nice Zelda community member that I speak with sometimes, who lives in a cold region, needs some help with heat and electric
I do however need like some commissions or #donation / #tips since I am two months behind on my gas & electric bills & we haven't gotten help yet for them, so if you wanna help us not freeze in winter, send something at ko-fi.com/izagar !

I was reformatting posts & realized I'd never uploaded the cleaned double page spread of these rare color pages! This is for #Zelda Adventure of Link vol 1 (part 2) when Ganon comes back & I joke (not joking) that it's the first Blood Moon for the series historyofhyrule.blogspot.com/2026/01/high...

I love that in 1987 Princess Zelda already had blonde hair, green eyes, a blue tunic, and wore pants... and Link had pink hair and blue eyes. Bonus for the bird BFF. (Ranmaru, Wanpakku comics, Nov 1987) #Zelda #Nintendo

I'm back on tumblr (I'm having a hell of a time getting google to index blogger 🤷‍♀️ but need into to show up) starting with my back catalog of posts.

I accidently deleted my years-old tumblr a while ago, thinking I was just deleting an alt blog, so be sure to re-follow!

As someone who also buys video game amg anime mags and things often for research purposes, this makes me so, so angry.

We don't always have complete scanned archives of stuff like Protoculture. Now there's one trapped inside a plastic slab for vanity and greed purposes.
These assholes *REALLY* do not understand who buys these things, do they?

I'm highlighting things I've posted in the past for new people

Though short this is perhaps the 3rd published #Zelda manga (May 1986) & it's notable to me bc it may be the first time we see Link with a fairy companion. It's also part 1 of a simple guide historyofhyrule.blogspot.com/2023/04/2400...

Google's AI's tone is so authoritative but, wow, it's such garbage

I was image searching for something I've been trying to find to scan & it was like "Dive Deeper in AI mode." Heh (I hate AI- see my screen shot comment)

This also mentions that Yoshi is in it... This manga is from May 1986

I didn't realize I hadn't cleaned and uploaded the individual illustrations for Chapter 3 of the #Zelda #LttP feature in the June 1992 issue of Shogaku Magazine. So the 2400dpi cleaned art is now in the downloads section here: archive.org/details/zine...

I got the last chapter for Shogaku Magazine's 1992 #Zelda #LttP feature scanned, cleaned, and uploaded. This is a magazine for first graders but the art is super amazing. It's where the badass image of Ganon comes from. September, Part 6: archive.org/details/zine...

OMG I finally finished cleaning this piece! There was so much text over it. It's far from perfect but at least it's not horribly distracting any more.

I really love it- cool fight to have a good illustration for.

I'll get the chapter and a zip with the cleaned art uploaded soon #zelda #lttp

I thought I'd highlight some stuff for new followers.
Here's my scans of the 2019 The Legend of #Zelda: Link's Awakening "Dreamer" Artbook, which has a ton of cute concept art for the Switch version. Normally I don't scan new publications but this was a limited release archive.org/details/link...

I was going to get around to scanning all my AoL material now that I'm closer to done with the Z1 publications, I think I'll try to make a thread/collection of how the healer was interpreted. Feel free to add art you've found in the past! Yuu Minazuki 1987: archive.org/details/comi...

It was "Venus" in the Japanese version too. The Japanese version also used English, but some terms were different like priest, town, and ocarina.

Speaking of this, I always assumed the Great Fairy from OoT was based on Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy. Before OoT came out I had a life-sized window decal of her. It was there when we played OoT in the dorm. Her "throne" here is also so much like BotW's Great Fairies youtu.be/UIxwyNULzdk?... Then--

In Zelda 2, a woman appears in each town, beckoning Link into her home. They disappear inside and Link's health begins to refill.

One reddit user recently asked if this scene was *intentionally* suggestive. While that seems very unlikely, I thought I'd look into it.

Fun fact but in the early 2000's tl;dr: when I would try to add stuff to wikis back then, or people would try to talk about a bunch of this on Western sites and forums, they were told "it's not real Zelda content" and deleted. Like my site was literally blacklisted for not being "a real Zelda site"

Books, artworks, and other spin-off media that are so rare, they're archeological treasures to analyze for Zelda fans. And give us a glimpse as to how The Legend of Zelda was seen at the time. It tells us more about the history of Zelda than Hyrule Historia itself. For real.

I know I posted this cleaned image before but I just re-cleaned it from my own scans. More editing than it looks. Anyway, worth it, because it's incredibly epic. #Zelda Link to the Past, Junichiro Saito, Shogaku Ichinensei Magazine, Sept. 1992
December 22, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Here's chapter 4 of the #Zelda Link to the Past short stories by Junichiro Saito / 斎藤純一郎 The July 1992 issue of Shogaku Ichinensei. (Sorry I scanned them out of order) archive.org/details/zine...

The cleaned art is at 2400dpi in its own download zip.

Alright everyone! Here is the ever beautiful #Zelda Link to the Past work by Junichiro Saito / 斎藤純一郎 in the May 1992 issue of Shogaku Ichinensei. I scanned the issues in order of ease- so this is Chapter 2 archive.org/details/zine...

The cleaned art is at 2400dpi in its own download zip.

I had some time today to sit down and edit and clean more of Junichiro Saito's / 斎藤純一郎 Link to the Past #zelda art from the 1992 Shogaku Ichinensei short story chapters. I love this epic piece of Link fighting the Armos Knights.

My spouse almost set his coffee mug down on my scanning desk amid a pile of books, I gasped, stopped him, & I slapped my computer desk & said "this one's fine, this is where I take risks!" which lol I meant drinks but it sounds so douchy-Linkedin. We cracked up

I *just* noticed he made these 😆

I just uploaded the re-scanned the Shogaku Ichinensei, part 1, April 1992, #Zelda illustrated short story at 2400dpi. There's also a zip with just the art- including the patched cover piece I posted yesterday. Artist Junichiro Saito / 斎藤純一郎

I cleaned this art from the first page, first chapter, of the 1992 Shogaku Ichinensei #Zelda Link to the Past short story by Junichiro Saito / 斎藤純一郎. I should have the 5 pages from this that I re-scanned uploaded at 2400dpi tomorrow but for now you can find them here:
