Hi, I'm Melora, the main source of scanned #Zelda art & out-of-print publications since The Internet. I was also the lead campaigner for Zelda manga & art/info books to exist outside of Japan. Join me as I try to create a gallery of every piece of licensed Zelda art via collecting & with your help!
My copies have different covers too and yet I instantly knew what these were as well!

I loved these covers! (Evaline Ness)

It's so amazing that no matter how differently artists interpret the characters the stories make it clear who they are.

New shit has come to light, Charlie Brown.

I just ordered, thank you so much! (No worries about the shipping date)

He took a bad turn & we had to put him down this morning. A vet came to our home & he felt good enough to enjoy some cheese cake & prime rib as he was falling asleep. I'll forever see & hear him walking beside me no matter where I go. I just wish he could have had a thousand more mountain adventures

I appreciate that you're the kind of person who would ask to see how someone feels, & you're obviously free to do it, but I would personally find anyone using it knowingly very off-putting & I think it would lead to confusion

I have to go though & don't really want to talk about it, my dog is dying

There's an infinite number of names in the universe: why would you want to use something someone else has been known as for over 2 decades unless you want people to think you're them? You also wouldn't be able to use it many other places. You should find a unique one for your own identity everywhere

Right?! There's just something so nice feeling about an unobstructed image! (& you do such amazing work.)

Even when something isn't perfect it still reads so much better to be cleaned up a little. (There are definitely some things I try much harder on than others!)

lol it really is
November 23, 2025 at 8:46 AM
Ah, that's so good to hear. Thank you. I was starring at it and tracing/connecting the remnants of lines for a bit before anything really started to make any kind of sense.

At first I thought it must be some kind of pouch but I can't see how after I started working that spot.

Sweet. That's good to hear.

At least it's a part that isn't really important. It was cool to see another female Link so I just wanted a version that had a nice presentation.
November 23, 2025 at 8:00 AM
Yeah, like I'm open to other ideas because I couldn't think of anything else, but I guess it doesn't really matter that much since it's a trivial bit & it's just nice to have a non-busy version.

Having another example of a female Link made me want to spend some time making it a better stand-alone.

Question: While cleaning this I couldn't really tell what was happening below the monster's chin. I guessed, based on the traces of lines sticking out from the text, was a scroll with RPG written on it and a sword sticking through it. & I guess those are chin spikes too? Does this seem ok enough?

Here's some fairly awesomely unhinged moblins (except the 2nd one which is just a cute sad boi) from other #Zelda 1 strategy guides that I've gotten scanned, cleaned, and uploaded at 2400dpi (and the first which is a better digital download than what was there before) www.flickr.com/photos/histo...

These all take so long to do T_T I have to hand-patch each of the bushes where all the damage from the folds are, etc.

& sorry there's bleed through on the 2nd one too. I used black backing but the paper is really thin so that's just how it looks no matter how it gets scanned.

There are much more exciting #Zelda 1 maps to come BUT at least these are cleaned & done. If you want the RAWS, or 2400dpi files that were often too large for Flickr to handle, there should be links with each file to the Internet Archive pages with the download zips: www.flickr.com/photos/histo...

They're sitting on so much they could use as insanely fun promotions. Can you imagine if they held semi-regular contests that were like "re-make Zelda 1 & 2," had a B team go over it just to make sure it was compliant for the store, & paid out to the best ones? Unf, there would be so much cool stuff

The early moblin art for #zelda 1 is really fun. So grumpy!

I'm still slowly chipping away at updating all the art in the gallery for the first game from the new 2400dpi scans I made of everything. www.flickr.com/photos/histo...

I like this plan. And the good news is I'm going to have most of it done by summer of 2003 ... 😅

Me too. I've always wanted to do an illustrated book/game guide for the first game T_T
