Y'all we have one more day to make 19 presents happen. Please help if you can.
Tomorrow is the last day of this holiday toy drive for Chicago families impacted by ICE. 41 of the 60 kids who were registered have had a present purchased.

Organizers are hoping every child and family can receive a gift. Let's help them reach their goal!

It was such a joy to celebrate Hanukkah with Mandy, Kathryn and their son, Gideon. As Jewish New Yorkers across our city prepare to light candles and mark the seventh night today, I wish you and your families a Hanukkah full of light and love.

my ESA dogs (one passed in 2023, and Esmé 11/30/25) helped me when no human would or could. they helped me survive over a year of homelessness beginning in 2020.

Muting a Black woman to claim the vote was unanimous is so incredibly on the nose
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

Critically important.
Rare survey done in IDOC shows at least 2/3 of incarcerated people experienced homelessness or housing instability in 3 years prior to entering prison. Illinois needs a statewide reentry housing strategy to ensure effective reentry into society, advocates say.

Shockingly, this bill would have failed were it not for the 3 Democrat defections.
Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

1. Earlier this year, Yale and CCMC capitulated to the Trump administration and ended care for trans youth.

Now, 10 families are suing them for violating state law.

Hospitals cannot be made to believe throwing trans people under the bus is risk free.

Public outrage in response to a viral post about her situation is the only reason she's alive today.
