They did! A theory I’ve seen online is that people thought it was a re-release which took years off my life when I thought of those implications.

It was an extremely solid 8/10 (I’m very picky past 8/10) for me but I whole-heartedly believe I will appreciate it even more with time. In a just universe between this and the Candyman remake, Nia DaCosta should have a blank check for anything she wants to make.

Hopefully the third gets the audience it deserves. All I know is that Nia DaCosta better not get any heat for this. She delivered [once again] and the audience just didn’t show up. And when they inevitably discover it on streaming next to 28 Years Later, I hope they realize the mistake they made!

Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.
