Today my students asked about AI advertising to student populations/campuses and I recommended that they read tech bro rhetoric about AI while swapping out "AI" for the terms "slavery," "pollution," "billionaire profits," or "deep state surveillance," and we had a great time. Highly recommend.

Filter feeding by oysters reduces disease transmission in a marine host–parasite system
As a mechanism of the dilution effect, predation and filter feeding on parasitic propagules are hypothesized to reduce transmission to susceptible hosts and alter host–parasite interactions. In marin...

Attorney General Pam Bondi tells a member of a co-equal branch of government during a public hearing: “You don’t tell me anything, you washed-up loser lawyer.” The disdain for our own government is appalling. This administration is destroying our democracy.

Really not sure folks are fully processing the fact that the President of the United States trying to arrest six Democrats in Congress is an unprecedented act of political persecution. There’s been nothing like this in U.S. history.

Haven’t gone to an SB in 14 months and 8 days.
Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

Now, Starbucks is lifting a cap on the CEO's use of a private jet to commute from California to Seattle.

It's been four years since Starbucks stores began unionizing and workers still don't have a contract.

ICE wants to cover their faces and prevent people from recording what they are doing. In no way should we allow the right to normalize the behaviors of a fascist police state,

Thank you, Julie Johnson, for speaking out against the grotesquely misnamed SAVE act. We need you to keep fighting for us in the House.

Of course.
A new study has shown that miscarriage or induced abortion is NOT a potential risk factor for breast cancer, contrary to continued anti-choice propaganda. Even several abortions or miscarriages does not increase risk. The study used high-quality Finnish registry data.
Prior abortion or miscarriage not linked to increased risk of pre- or postmenopausal breast cancer
A prior abortion or miscarriage was not linked with an increased risk of developing pre- or postmenopausal breast cancer in a study published in Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica.

Pam Bondi has been a complete and total failure at her job. The Epstein survivors showed more courage just by being in that room than she did under oath. She refused to answer questions and chose complicity.

America deserves better.

Home insurance rates are soaring in the aftermath of wildfires in Maui and Los Angeles.

Two new bills introduced in Hawaiʻi and California would help protect families from rising costs by making Big Oil pay their fair share. 👏

They not only failed to get an indictment, they failed to get a single grand juror’s vote. It’s probable that this has never happened before.

Likely because the DOJ has never sent hack political appointees to attempt to get indictments on sitting Congress members over protected speech before.
