Right now, the tunnel boring machines for Gateway have arrived and are being assembled in their launch pits.

There are many issues with the Gateway project, but stopping construction now would only add years more delay while further inflating costs.

This is the first meeting under the new governor & new Turnpike Authority chair; first impressions matter!

If you've never called into one of the turnpike authority meetings, it's like dialing into an old mass call. You call the number and enter the meeting ID and the number to add yourself to the speaker list. You can do other things while you wait for the public speaking portion.

Missing crosswalks: Many bus riders directly enter/exit the JSQ bus station on Sip Avenue to get to Hudson County Community College & other destinations. But as with many intersections in Jersey City, one of the crosswalks is missing, forcing pedestrians to navigate around parked cars or cross twice

And the nation’s worst e-bike law to boot! Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.
The lasting Murphy legacy: lies about congestion pricing increasing emissions while simultaneously forcing through a highway widening project in Jersey City that would definitely increase emissions.

This is ridiculous. Also, keep in mind the policing. And the over-policing of people of color that use e-bikes.

Governor Murphy has signed the dumb backdoor e-bike ban, wheeee, I love being governed by incurious idiots who refuse to think through anything they do or listen to anyone who tries to tell them stuff they haven't considered
the New Jersey Legislature is about to functionally ban e-bikes because the Senate President is a car accident lawyer who's mad he theoretically cannot make money off e-bike crashes since they aren't insured (because insurance largely isn't offered)
The e-bike bill is up for committee vote TODAY. _Call_ your state reps, especially if you live in these districts:

1, 6, 9, 14, 15, 26, 29, 36, 37, 38, 39

7 of the cmte members are Dems, 4 are GOP.

🚓 🎉 We are elated to see Mayor Solomon’s recommitment to Vision Zero & announcement for a dedicated traffic enforcement division. A dedicated division will build long-term, sustainable capacity + redouble JCPD’s efforts for traffic enforcement. Traffic enforcement is a key component to achieving VZ.

Please call and text and request Murphy veto the ebike bill if you live in New Jersey. My Mom rode a Class 1 ebike until a few months before her death at 87. It was the only way she could go grocery shopping. And lots of her friends used them to get around as well. They were life rafts for them.
We'll know within the next 4 days and 2 hours if Governor Murphy will veto the poorly written Motorized Bicycle Bill S4834/A6235 into law.

Call the Governor - (609) 292-6000
Text the Governor - (732) 605-5455

👋 Hey bus riders!

NJ TRANSIT is testing two different e-ink screen solutions that could be used as information signs at bus stops in the future.

Both would display & announce real-time departure times & service alerts.

Your feedback would be appreciated—take a look🧵👇

It passed committee. Here's the roll call.

Shame on Zwicker, in particular. He's supposed to be one of the better ones, but has been on a dumb guy streak lately.

& ofc my state senator, Burzichelli.

Republicans all voted no.

Senator Scutari's grossly irresponsible e-bike bill has advanced again, despite being a knee-jerk reaction to 2 women being murdered by a man using a car as a weapon. It would criminalize e-bike riders and discourage safe and sustainable transport, and it must be stopped.
