Advocating for zero traffic deaths and serious injuries in #JerseyCity

Very upsetting that ACLU is pro-drunk driving.

Requiring in-car breathalyzers for people convicted of a DUI is not "a form of racialized wealth extraction."

People of all backgrounds are getting killed and maimed by reckless drivers. Let's stop the carnage!

CA leaders look away as road deaths skyrocket
More and more people are dying on California roads, and millions are getting injured. What are lawmakers doing as vehicle deaths increase?

A bill requiring license, insurance and registration for all e-bike users is racing through lame duck despite heavy pushback and no statewide data about crashes/fatalities.

My story on what bike advocates are saying and sole Sen bill sponsor Nick Scutari, who told me he wants an e-bike (!)
NJ bill to require e-bike users to be licensed gets pushback
The bill, sailing through the New Jersey Legislature this month, would require all e-bike users to be licensed, insured and registered.

Just discovered this NBER paper examining the safety dangers of car bloat:

"Being hit by a vehicle that is 1,000 pounds heavier results in a 47% increase in the baseline fatality probability."

I was surprised to talk to a real person this morning when I called Citi Bike Support. There has been zero bikes at the Carteret/Arlington Avenues in Jersey City for a few days now. I’m glad they’re opening up more stations in my area, but they need to rebalance so they’re useful. 🚲

We have this bus platform but three buses couldn’t use it because this rideshare driver who doesn’t have a front license plate decided that he gets to park here. He’s also just parking in a lane of traffic.

#JCcrashes We are sad to say there was a fatal crash killing a driver on Route 1 & 9 and Halleck Ave yesterday morning. Route 1 & 9 is notoriously dangerous, and there have been 4 fatalities on Route 1 in Hudson County so far this year. NJ State and NJDOT must make much needed safety improvements.
