Scripps is the third largest operator of ABC affiliates, behind Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group, and ahead of Hearst Television and Tegna.

Sinclair is already too big. Plus, the last thing communities need is even more local TV stations spewing lies, conspiracy theories and hyper- partisan, pro trump propaganda.

The exposure of so much fakery on X—MAGA influencer accounts revealed to be non-American mixed with fake screenshots showing false countries of origin—is an epistemic nightmare come to life. Not that everyone falls for it, but that people don't know what's real, and have excuses to dismiss anything.
