I think it's important for people to learn what species they have locally so they can be excited about them and feel some responsibility for their well-being. Since we as a species have largely taken over the planet, it seems like the right thing to do: make sure other species can still live here.🐡🐍

🌳 We zijn ongelofelijk blij met het besluit van de Tweede Kamer om de A27 niet te verbreden. 'Er ligt een goed en gedragen plan van de regio, inwoners en maatschappelijke organisaties. Dat plan spaart het prachtige bos waar mensen van genieten, tot rust komen, spelen en elkaar ontmoeten.'

We’ve found harvest mice at other sites in our network but it’s great to see them here too. We’ll be looking for more in the future as well. If you’ve not seen one they are beautiful and the only mammal in Britain with a prehensile tail. They climb like little monkeys.

I have a confession to make. Every time I finish processing an astrophoto, I think to myself, "Holy sh*t, that's really up there." It's one thing to see an image in a book or magazine or show or whatever, but to just point a system of mirrors, lenses and a camera sensor at the sky, and this happens?
