This is the problem with a lot of our approach to social services. Rather than government provided universal services - which are simpler, more efficient, and less vulnerable to fraud- we create complex systems of welfare that go through private actors.

I was just thinking, anecdotally, I have never been sick so frequent as I have the last year. Which made me curious if there’s a study done on health of a population during the rise of fascism? Cause the stress alone will make more folks sick, right?
