A jackdaw is a small, black bird with a short, thick bill, and a silvery-grey "shawl" around the back of its head that stands out from its black face and cap. Its most distinctive feature is its eyes: they are pale blue-grey as juveniles and become a striking, bright, pale-blueish-white as they mature. Their call is a sharp "tchack" sound. Size: It is the smallest of the UK's crow family, with a wingspan of about 70 cm. Plumage: It has a shiny black body with a distinctive silvery-grey colour on the back of its head and neck, which contrasts with its black face and cap. Bill: The bill is short and chunky. Eyes: The adult’s pale blueish-white eyes are a key identifying feature. Juvenile jackdaws have blue-grey eyes.

BEYOND THE VEIL (2023)

This began as an abstract color experiment. I had no particular subject in mind until I recalled a drawing in my sketchbook. Staring at a darkly swathed figure earlier that day, I felt that she’d been waiting for a painting to float into. 1/2
A woman in dark robes holds her hands crossed over her chest as she floats upward from a planet toward a warm splash of color at the edge of the panel left. The color patterns of the planet—rendered in white, blue, and green—and the warm space beyond are abstract swirls and bubbles. Her hood is up, exposing only the pale skin of her face, and her eyes are closed as if deep in meditation. Purple trim trails the hem of the long gap of her sleeves. Two other figures ascend behind her.

THE DREAMING LANDS (2002)
Oil on Canvas - 20” X 30”

This painting is one of several works derived from my experiences at MSKCC in 2000.

That year I read a couple of books which mentioned a feeling I have experienced at night during camping trips... 1/4
Sunken into solid rock, a woman with wavy golden blonde hair lies with her arms spread and stares up at the sky. Her plain white t-shirt rides up to expose a hint of midriff. One knee is slightly raised, and a shadow falls across her thin, drab green sweatpants. The rock enveloping her shows some cracking and pebbling but is mostly worn smooth. A ridge of mountains runs just beyond forming a rim, tan against the gray rock in which she is situated. Past that more barren land leads to a stretch of mountain that climbs left to right with the visible break of a valley cut through before resuming in a long half dome. The panoramic view eventually gives way to soft blue skies.

Multiple greyscale sketches of a wyvern with several arctic animal characteristics. The client for this one wanted something that combined the features of a bear, owl, fish, and various other wildlife. The next image features what we ended up settling on. Greyscale layout for the final wyvern design with notes regarding texture and placement of features. We agreed early on to feature the head fins rather prominently, as well as the feathered, owl-like wings. I insisted on the little bear ears because I thought they were cute. Actual image description: A wyvern with broad, feathered wings equipped with dexterous hands and hooked claws. Its head is crowned with sharp fins that frame its beaked face that additionally sports a long, slender horn and gills that run along its cheeks. It’s tail is long, and think, lined with scales and tipped with a whale’s fluke. I, personally, think this thing RULES

I truly hope if you're downloading books that you download one of the ones that are uploaded with the fake endings, the random "and then he shit in her mouth and turned her into a zombie" that i know someone is adding that to her romance books & has her sister upload dozens of versions of that.

Undersea Sleepover

Outside the window, we can see out into a starry and magical ocean filled with sea creatures mirroring the movements of the children's stuffed animals. Some kids wear blanket capes or play in a blanket fort. Some eat chips and pizza. Dogs run alongside them, past arranged sleeping bags and houseplants. It is warmly lit inside and cool out the window.
