The clean energy leapfrogging is real.

Battery recycling is expected to become a cornerstone of the global energy transition as electric vehicles (EVs) and other battery-powered technologies become more widespread.

China holds a dominant position in both the pre-treatment and refining stages of battery recycling.

Why the Time Has Finally Come for Geothermal Energy
It used to be that drawing heat from deep in the Earth was practical only in geyser-filled places such as Iceland. But new approaches may have us on the cusp of an energy revolution.

Open minds & competition are good, but so is knowing when to cut losses and consolidate on a winning strategy. Green hydrogen for ground transport is dead, & mostly dead for anything other than as an industrial chemical/reactant for reduction, as ammonia or a fuel component, etc. Which is still big.

With current pledges, the world's on track for 2.6°C of warming in 2100 compared to preindustrial levels.

10 years ago, before the Paris agreement, it was 3.6°C

20+ years ago, we thought it would be 4-5°C

So 2.6°C is better, but the problem is that climate impacts are way worse than we predicted.
