"Fuck them kids" is the official stance of the Republican Party and it really needs to be pointed out relentlessly
Exclusive: Republicans plan to challenge vehicle-safety mandates, such as automatic emergency braking and alarms that remind drivers a child is in the back seat.

Republicans are questioning the value of some features, such as automatic braking and rear-seat reminders.

Viola Fletcher, the oldest living survivor of the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, has died. She was 111.

"I have lived through the massacre every day. Our country may forget this history, but I cannot," she told Congress in 2021.

Geoff Bennett has more.

I’ve said this before; as I get older I’m more and more comfortable with the idea of allowing rich people to not be constrained by the law so long as it doesn’t protect them either.

Can we just put all of them in jail instead? Or execution? Executed sounds okay.
A 25-person startup is developing technology to block the sun and turn down the planet’s thermostat.

The stakes are huge — and the company and its critics say regulations need to catch up.

Wellllllll that's enough internet for today I think.
Because people keep asking, the Story of The Lizard In That Dude's Leg. Some caveats:

1. This happened more than twenty years ago. There are no pictures. There was a small article in a local paper with, again, no pictures (I'm assuming that's what the producers of 9-1-1: LONE STAR found).

This was a drive-by shooting and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.
11 years ago today, 12 year old Tamir Rice was gunned down by police officers on Cleveland’s west side.

The officer shot him within seconds of arriving at the park he was playing in.

Tamir’s life mattered. It still does. My thoughts are with his family today.

Rounds of rhythm then I'mma give 'em piano

ready, aim at the brain, now what the trigger say

Massage & melodies might go right through

I won my first 360 in a contest and it is still my favorite console of all time.
20 years ago I camped out in front of a Target in Toledo for over 12 hours in cold and rain with nothing to entertain me but a flip phone and a bunch of other folks. Happy 20th birthday, Xbox 360.

Local brick and mortar bookstores, I'm begging you as a school librarian, offer an educator discount. 20% is ideal. 10-15% isn't good enough to pull us off Ingram or even Amazon, and esp not when that discount is only for purchasing multiple copies of rhe same title.
