Today I noticed that my nipples, which once shone like headlights, now operate more like flood lights. Aging is interesting.

As usual @kentparkskeet.bsky.social is spot on. I don't miss the days of sanctioned misogyny, homophobia, racism or transphobia. I don't want a return of the white Australia policy or corporal punishment. But each to their own I suppose.
In my late 50s, many friends and peers are at the things aren’t what they used to be stage.

I’d like to know which 55 year period of history didn’t contain change?

1920 - 1975? Why can’t people travel by ship, it was good enough for us?

1850 - 1905?

What’s with those trains?

I heard an American lawyer recently profess their shock that many First world countries don't automatically extradite criminals to the USA. Don't they realise that most civilised countries oppose the dealth penalty?

In my home we are very grateful for sussan ley calling herself a puck rocker because she had spikey hair and a dodgy collar because we've had a hard week and the laughs didn't go astray.

I just heard a story of a Nazi swinging a young child by the legs and smashing them into a wall to kill them and then I heard a story of Jewish soldiers shooting and starving Palestinian children and the world makes no sense to me.

Childcare worker's wages (and aged care and teachers) need to be raised to attract more employees so that centres (and schools) are not desperate for staff and greater safety and quality measures can be implemented. We need to value the professions that we entrust to care for our community.

Whenever this comes up I think about 'The Remarkable Life of Ibelin' - a documentary about a young Norwegian battling Duchenne muscular dystrophy whose parents allowed him to play WoW thinking he was wasting his time.

It turned out he was living his best life, that was impossible IRL.

Seeing so many Americans standing up for the preservation of democracy has been uplifting. So much better than ‘what new outrage today?’ although sadly, the outrages still exist.

Mr Husband took the kid to his soccer match today. The first time, nervous, parent ref got hot and decided to take off his trakkie dacks and wear his shorts. But he wasn't wearing shorts. Mr. Husband said that's why he won't referee.
