I will start with the option that convinces me the most atm - Stoat (former Revolt). Its very discord-like. Its open source. Devs are openly communicating with users. They have years long media presence. They are not planning on locking existing features behind paywall or ever go into stock market.

If indie animation is gonna have any viability, I must stress that it is important to have a good producer to figure out the money and manage the production team. I will keep banging this drum because it isnt enough to have skilled artists or writers without someone who can manage resources.
