It is also pertinent that AI is merely the latest in a long line of issues we have been told require more urgent action than climate change. Wars, international crises, economic shocks, etc have all been cited as reasons we must delay action on the single most dangerous & immediate threat to us all.

It was as pure a distillation of neo-liberal social and economic experimentation as the world had witnessed at the time.
The Howard agenda was only ever a lite version of what Hewson proposed.

Even the absence of hatred can be described as “hate” - this demonstrates the defining feature of this rhetoric, which is characterising any opposition to the functioning of the state as hateful, as antisemitism. And the apartheid state maintains its violences with hatred of Arabs and Muslims.
I’m the daughter of two Israelis. I grew up in the USA. My mother has told me, point blank, I’m a self hating Jew for NOT hating Arabs and Muslims because “they’d kill you too”. It is such a bizarre mindset to me.
