Well I’ll be buying a copy. One of my favourite things on radio 4 is the short story and have quite a few in my collection. Susanna Clark - the Ladies of Grace Adieu - Rose Tremain The garden of the Villa Mollini. Loved this

Enchanted Isle - The Man On The Rocks by Tom Cox - BBC Sounds
Louise meets an eccentric guy on Dartmoor who turns out to have quite a past.

Look at this absolute delight! A local church holds a Rocking Service where the baby in the Parish born nearest to Christmas Day, is rocked in a decorated cradle at Candlemas. Possibly the last Church in the world to do so - unless you know different? #TinyJoys

I was thinking precisely the same thing. It's infuriating to see Starmer repeating so many of the mistakes of the Tories, not least since they gave such a clear model for how *not* to govern

"Ultimately though you get judged on delivery of actual change over five years..."

I don't know how this Starmer ally can say this with a straight face. Again, there is no vision here, just cynical fearmongering about the uncertainty of the alternatives. This is the antithesis of leadership.
Hhhmmm.

Can’t see any of the likely successors making *major* changes to borrowing. You might get more taxes & more spending.
And don’t rule out a more pro-growth attitude to immigration.

A chance test revealed alarming levels of “forever chemicals” in the drinking water wells of a small Wisconsin town. There, like elsewhere nationwide, well owners are often the last to learn of contamination, and many states aren’t looking for the danger.
When forever chemicals contaminate drinking water, private well owners may be the last to know
The roughly 40 million Americans who get drinking water from wells are at particular risk when harmful forever chemicals contaminate the supply.

How can we not be obsessed with them when they are constantly invading our kitchens? bsky.app/profile/dj-a...
This hedgehog wandered into my house a lot in 2019. One time my mate Louise was over, a bit drunk, telling me a longish story, and I noticed him having a sleep on the kitchen floor. I didn't want to rudely interrupt so I quietly picked him up and put him outside while Louise continued...
Come back! All I said was "You're cute but you'd be a lot cuter if you didn't have those fleas and deer ticks all over you."

Also shouldn't you be hibernating by now?

At this point I think we should just accept that hedgehogs are our national obsession and change England’s three lions to three furzy-pigs (that’s hedgehogs in some parts)

That's INCREDIBLY fucked up. Calling abolition of slavery a "political" position implies that it is a debateable policy choice.
I cannot sufficiently underline how despicable it is that the IOC has required Haitian Olympic athletes to remove an image representing the leader of the Haitian Revolution (against SLAVERY) from their uniforms.

#BHM Day 6: Black Bohemian Figure 🧶

This colorway is inspired by a Black figure depicted in an early 15th-cent Bohemian astrological ms from the court of King Wenceslaus IV. The figure is not identified as a specific historical person, but their presence is nonetheless meaningful.
