Just a thought that popped into my head so there could be many problems but maybe California should fund its own gender care clinics. Hospitals everywhere should not be folding to Federal pressure of funding cuts but I worry about the people who need care now and can’t wait until it is worked out.

Incredible piece of reporting about both the horrific conditions at the Otey Mesa detention center and the inspiring activism of people on the outside who started by just showing up.

My takeaways:

- we can’t allow this to continue
- everybody can do something
- support local journalism
Organizers have collected 14 lotion bottles, two deodorant bottles, and one AA Battery that detainees have thrown over the fences with notes attached to them.

Book 2 of 2026. I enjoyed the writing and I thought the author did a great job getting you invested in the stories of the various students. I found I’m pretty well-informed about the realities of refugees in the US, but it could be eye-opening to some people.

I was leading call and response chants at a protest on Friday and noticed so many people responded enthusiastically but softly. We’ve been conditioned to be meek in the face of oppression. It’s going to take practice for many people to be comfortable being loud. Don’t despair. We will get there.

I just finished my first book of 2026 and it was brilliant. It’s the sequel to Tommy Orange’s first novel, There, There, which was also outstanding. I felt enveloped in the world of the characters, which is so different than mine but still resonated within me. #booksky

The phrase “Hold Fast” comes from centuries-old nautical tradition. Sailors carved or tattooed the words across their knuckles as both a reminder and a plea: when the storm hits, grip the rigging and don’t let go.

So to all who feel the deck pitching beneath them: HOLD FAST.

Compare / contrast: see how fast the beauty queens stood up and walked out when Miss Mexico was insulted. No hesitation. Why? The local conference director had tried to control her social media postings. The queens showed the press how to defend not just class solidarity but freedom of speech. 3/

The Miss Universe director publicly humiliated Miss Mexico, calling her a “dumbhead” then tried to flex his power when she spoke up

I want you to feel a glimpse of an ACTUAL healthy, un-sabotaged movement. I’m using this thread to post news articles that either ✅pass or 🚫do not pass the Sabotage Test, so you can start spotting them too. No joke knowing the difference is healing me. Adding more as I see them.
So we've been trained to sabotage our own movements from within and it worked on all of us I'm afraid! ESPECIALLY if you're marginalized. But here's how to stop it. Save these. These go in your phone now. REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE.

A free zine to print out and distribute at marches.
I was commissioned to make a zine for the No Kings 2 protest on Saturday Oct 18th!

If you wonder “what can I do?” this zine is for you. It’s packed with things that you can do from wearing a “no ICE” pin to organizing a visibility brigade with your friends.

We’ve seen what happens when billionaires buy our government and implement disastrous policies that benefit only them at the expense of workers. We need to put workers over billionaires.
