It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

My dentist out of the blue trying to rebill me for a check they cashed three months ago, and the lady on the phone there is being as rude to me as humanly possible as if I played some kind of Rumpelstiltskin trick on her by proving they got paid

I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate
