I had hoped to post more here about my research but illness over the last year has meant I have had to take a break. Fingers crossed I will be able to restart soon.

I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.
In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia.
In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)

The BBC has covered our study on medical power and #LongCovid. It’s a shame they didn’t name me and got my university name wrong, but nonetheless, good to see some MSM attention

71% of disabled people want to use more sustainable modes of transport, but face needless barriers such as overcrowding, missing announcements and a lack of lifts. Public transport must be accessible, so we can all make choices about how to travel.

Needs to be widely shared with cisgender people, especially politicians. Utterly horrifying that Britain has come to this- that most of Britain is just looking the other way while a whole community is being eliminated from society because of lies and hatred. transactual.org.uk/wp-content/u...

Hi #philsky, I'm searching for philosophies of complicatedness,- so not philosophy of complexity, but specifically complicatedness. There might be an overlap, but it seems rather complicated. ; ) I would love to discover philosophies or philosophers who wrote about this matter.

Chronic illness runs our life, it almost always comes first.

It’s miserable. We can’t plan anything.

Most of us say no to social events, holidays and other commitments because the stress of knowing you MUST do something is awfully hard on a person with unpredictable illness

Every single non-disabled person who is supporting the PIP cuts should be handed a £15k “disability costs” bill each year and asked how they plan on paying it. Because people don’t really need benefits? You’ll be able to find £15k on top of rent, food, utilities and your summer holiday? Right?

Most non-disabled people tend to imagine disability in terms of simple, obvious things - a single part of the body not working the way it does in others. In reality, most disabilities are complex, with multiple problems interacting to make basic tasks impossible. #disability

NEW FROM ME -

Britain is abandoning international medical consensus on disability.

Every other developed nation recognizes cumulative impairment as genuine severity.

We're about to become an anomaly—and the logic of 4+ suggests it was deliberate.

Wouldn’t it be nice if disabled people, for once, weren’t some political football, but taken as real people with real lives and expertise and views who warranted not just concern but consultation and dare I say, respect

Proud to have been apart of this team. Research methodology matters. Policy should be based on methodologically sound research. Our results show the many methodological flaws of the Cass Review. Check it out ⬇️

Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.
