Would love to meet creative folk here, so here's an 🦋 Intro Post 🦋

I’m a TV writer and I’ve been lucky enough to write for Netflix, Disney+, BBC, Cartoon Network, Nick and more!

I’ve written on 3 shows that are coming out soon(ish). All of them are under NDA so you just have to trust me, OK??

Congrats Eddie! The premise for this is really cool - looking forward to reading!

also if a scene has a letter and a fire going then you just KNOW that letter is going to get burned.

EVERY HOUSE OF GUINNESS SCENE:

"I will never agree to do this thing you just asked me"

"What if I restated my idea again, more eloquently, and then I hold out my hand to you and look you in the eye?"

The two characters look at each other. Long beat. Irish music plays. CUT TO them doing the thing.

So Lib Dems exaggerate Farage's support for gun control. This leads to a "What does Farage think about guns?" explainer article. Repeating this links him to a policy everyone in UK hates/is fearful of.

This is what far right does with EVERYTHING, and so it is good to see it used against them too.

Keir Starmer’s spokesperson asked for the PM's response to Nigel Farage’s plan to deport hundreds of thousands of people living and working completely legally in the UK, replies that he thinks it is “unworkable” and “unfunded”.

So his objection is that they’ve got their sums wrong
jameshuntrods.bsky.social
"actually, your sums on how you would deport hundreds of thousands of people don't add up, so checkmate mr farage," said labour

Rewriting something that sucks is infinitely harder than starting from a blank page. And I expect our AI bros will recognise this fact and pay us more to do this kind of work!

The AI boom has created a new type of work: fixing botched AI. Designers are being hired to remake wonky AI art. Writers are asked to make ChatGPT’s writing sound more human. Even software developers are tasked with fixing buggy vibe coding.

Humans are being hired to make AI slop look less sloppy
In the age of automation, human workers are being brought in to fix what artificial intelligence gets wrong.

Do you reckon Coruscant is actually just one city with the Jedi temple and Senate in, and the rest is data centres?

The people dominating our political landscape, culture, and economy are just so stupid and full of shit it's almost impossible to describe
A transcription of a conversation between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and podcast host Theo Von on Von's podcast, in an excerpt from the Atlantic article "AI is a mass-delusion event" by Charlie Warzel:

"Sam Altman: I do guess that a lot of the world gets covered in data centers over time.

Theo Von: Do you really?

Altman: But I don’t know, because maybe we put them in space. Like, maybe we build a big Dyson sphere around the solar system and say, “Hey, it actually makes no sense to put these on Earth.”

Von: Yeah.

Altman: I wish I had, like, more concrete answers for you, but, like, we’re stumbling through this."

Weapons is totally great. Somehow also really funny whilst being properly scary and compelling all the way through. Definitely go see it in the cinema because you want to be with a crowd going "what the fuck" a lot.

And don't feel limited by the boundaries of your garden either.

Construct a small cottage on your neighbour's land.
Knock down that back fence and get expanding.
Plant completely different trees at the back for some reason.

Conquer your neighbourhood, homeowner. Conquer it!

This bathroom sure could use some sprucing up!

Just look at the improvement! Now you can bathe under your sink! It's what every homeowner wants.
And what do you get if you cross a shower and a bunk bed? You get... whatever this is!
Look in the mirror too. Is that a third shower? Perhaps!

Zoopla's new AI room designer sure is something.

Just look at this run-down living room. With a bit of TLC you could have... er... toilet stairs?
Why have a window when you could have some lovely art? Like this picture of bricks!

In any city, spaces like this are a hidden asset. It’s where freelancers gather and work, spending money, and making economically worthwhile things. So much creative stuff gets initiated in these commercially liminal locations. There should be a way of defending them.

Of all the memes I've saved, this one has aged like a fine wine.
A woman with a spiky crown states you can't defeat me
A man says I know but he can.
A fire giant bursts from a large city.
All are labelled the labour party.
