It doesn’t matter where you go on holiday, it’s what you do in the evening that matters.

People don't understand what a monumental achievement the EU is. For thousands of years the continent that would tear itself apart every few decades, the EU stopped all that. We should have thanked them every day for being allowed in, instead we decided to fuck it all off.

NEW: This is a powerhouse summit gathered in London.

Starmer has confirmed UK & France are now leading the peace process, with Ukraine.

Trump has disqualified himself & the US.

UK has also agreed to use profits from seized Russian assets to fund Ukraine 👏

Leaders attending:
🇬🇧🇺🇦🇫🇷🇩🇪🇮🇹🇨🇦🇪🇸🇵🇱🇩🇰🇳🇴🇫🇮🇸🇪🇳🇱🇨🇿🇷🇴🇹🇷🇪🇺

At this rate, it may be Starmer that ends up landing the Nobel Peace Prize, not Trump as he thinks he deserves but has spaffed so spectacularly this week.

This interview with Tony Slattery a few years back struck such a chord with a nation that remembered him so fondly from when he was in his pomp.

Outstanding performer and gentle soul.

Tony Slattery: ‘I had a very happy time until I went slightly barmy’
His appearances on Whose Line Is It Anyway? made him a major comedy and improv star in the 90s, but then his life fell apart. He talks about love, addiction, bipolar disorder and a long-buried secret

The BBC needs to have a debate about whether Musk's outbursts should keep leading the news.

This isn't about censoring or suppressing his views; it's about whether to amplify them.

Most Brits aren't on X, they don't follow Musk & not every raving from a foreign plutocrat should set the news agenda

I’m sharing my traditional leftover meal – a footlong Bahn Mi of roast turkey, pigs in blankets, chilli lime and dill mayo with picked carrot and cucumber, mint and coriander in ciabatta – because I fear I might’ve perforated my stomach at this will be my last will and testament.

JOURNALISM BOOMING ON BLUESKY

The Mississippi Free Press, already has more followers on Bluesky (28,500) than it ever did on X (22,000) - audience engagement on Bluesky is booming.

“Bluesky is getting 20 times the engagement or more than Twitter.”
Journalists flock to Bluesky as X becomes increasingly 'toxic'
Journalists are finding more readers and less hate on Bluesky than on the platform they used to know as Twitter.

It speaks volumes about how far down this hate filled rabbit hole the world is when the majority of Americans support a repeated sexual abusing, convicted criminal, dictator supporting, racist, transphobic, bigot who boast about removing basic rights over a woman. Everyone is worse off today.

@sturdyalex.bsky.social I do wonder if you’ll have another delicious “I told you so” moment with your theory that it’ll actually be a Tory leader that will (eventually) be the one to run on the platform of taking us back into the EU, now we’re left with Jenrick vs Badenoch.

Always astonishing how UEFA has an unerring ability to draw out a dreary hour-long footballwank every year as a precursor to their draw.

Whatever the outcome of today's talks in Berlin, notable in such a short time in office how often Starmer has made a point of meeting with his senior European counterparts. In less than two months today will be his fifth meeting with Scholz and fourth with Macron.
