Corporate outlets aren’t resisting fascism. They’re enabling it. All the president’s men aren’t breaking into the Watergate; they’re buying up the media and firing anyone who won’t toe the line.

While corporate media consolidates and collaborates, the right has built a self-sustaining propaganda machine. Fox News is only the tip of the iceberg. The real engine is online: Breitbart, The Federalist, PragerU, The Daily Caller, journalist-turned-plagiarist-turned-unwitting-Russian-asset Benny Johnson, influencers like Ben Shapiro and Megyn Kelly, and thousands of podcasters, YouTubers, TikTokers, and meme factories.

But there’s lots of hopeful stuff in there. Including this bit about Bluesky.

. It's no exaggeration to say that without Bluesky, The Handbasket would not exist in its current form. I was able to cultivate a supportive community there and use my account to publish even more news when I didn't have time to write an entire post. It's a main artery of what I do, and many of the people who pay for a subscription understand that it's part of the product I'm providing.

That's why I was taken aback when the Executive Editor asked me, "How do you think we can monetize our website?" I really wanted to say "how the fuck should I know?" and also "why are you asking me?" In retrospect it should've been a glaring red flag that the adults in charge had no idea what they were doing and that it would be up to me and my peers to figure it out. But that's something I wouldn't realize until much later on, after years of expecting someone else to fix it. Until I realized I was the adult.

Her whiteness has always been a blind spot for Taylor, but it’s more obvious now that the U.S. is governed by a white supremacist administration.

You could use this for a reflection of your own problematic whiteness. No need to call her a eugenicist.
