Absolute lunacy that Harrell and the rest of the Sound Transit board are going to blow the opportunity to make this the gateway into Seattle as a new transit hub with a 4th Ave & Jackson ST3 light rail station. A truly generational mistake

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them

Insightful piece from @davidzipper.bsky.social: “If AVs are 20% safer than human drivers and expand total driving by 30%, total crashes would increase by 4%”

I think the jury is still out on how AVs are going to affect systemwide goals like Vision Zero.
We Still Don’t Know if Robotaxis Are Safer Than Human Drivers
And even if self-driving technology proves to be less dangerous, there are many better ways to improve traffic safety and prevent fatal crashes.

The ever-present disregard for parking regulations on Occidental.

Exactly why we shouldn’t rely on enforcement to solve ab infrastructure issue. Some retractable bollards would do wonders here

I understand that the superbowl isn’t happening in Seattle, but there are still a lot of people hanging out around the stadium. So crazy how hard it is for officials to comprehend pedestrianizing Occidental

Another one of those "really? We're doing that well?" moments for Seattle.

I will say that extremely car-oriented Bellevue being 13th on the list indicates to me that this is less about quality of infrastructure, and more about nature of jobs in this part of the world.
I am one of the 78% that don’t commute by car in Cambridge

The big difference between YIMBYs and others on the left is that when we see a great city, we don’t think “keep people out.” We think “build enough so everyone who wants to live here can.”

The scarcity mindset sucks!

I’m having a hard time thinking of an interview between two human beings I enjoyed more than tonight’s interview of the great Ian McKellen by the great Stephen Colbert. Every moment of it was a pleasure that I highly recommend… but then came the most REMARKABLE ending that you really HAVE to watch.

Link ridership rose more than 27% in 2025, and its two lines will be connected in March!

Friendly reminder that MLK Way’s dangerous design is a local hazard and regional liability. Maintaining the current design is a choice that city leaders make everyday. Sound Transit will be implementing minor changes (pedestrian gates) later this year, but a full redesign by SDOT is long overdue.

Feels like we are on a train barreling towards the cliff of housing & climate disaster (due in significant part to prior urban planning mistakes). And we are trying to hit the brakes or change course, and SEPA asks us to spend years analyzing and litigating whether we should really change course.
