Absolute lunacy that Harrell and the rest of the Sound Transit board are going to blow the opportunity to make this the gateway into Seattle as a new transit hub with a 4th Ave & Jackson ST3 light rail station. A truly generational mistake
On top of the many other things already mentioned in the thread and replies, I’d add an increase to the number of permanent shelter beds. Something in sharp contrast to Harrell’s imagined shelters or the shelters held empty for Harrell admin spite

Everyone!! It’s very important that you know Seattle has a professional women’s hockey team and they’re about to play their very first game and this is so exciting!!

One week on @theurbanist.org:
-Two original Sound Transit stories
-Two fully reported Seattle budget stories
-Dispatches from both Clyde Hill & Kirkland
-One story about Katie Wilson's transition team
And a book review!

I know I'm biased, but I really think we punch above our weight.

Strauss and Hollingsworth need to stop being noncommittal spineless people. There were 5ish major divisive topics and they abstained from 2 of them, both ending 6-1-2 with Rinck against. They are elected to vote on this stuff especially when it's divisive.

Even if the bridge lasts 20 years that’s $9,000 per vehicle for those 20 years. What a complete waste of money. If this were a transit project or bike lane it would get so much scrutiny but car projects never do and when you point it out the defense is “well it’s a jobs program”
$5B to rebuild a bridge that carried 30,000 AADT, and has three Interstate alternative routes, doesn't seem like a wise investment.

A person as thoughtful and kind as Katie having won a major election is so awesome. Having a Mayor who rents, who doesn't drive, who's a parent, who has worked in customer service, and who actually *likes* people-as-a-group is refreshing. Thank you for running!

I cannot wait for what comes next.
After much deliberation and a grueling interview process, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve accepted a new job and will not need any financial support from my parents to cover the high costs of childcare going forward. #AmericanDream #ThisIsYourCity

One thing that’s so frustrating living in a city center is the pervasive belief among suburbanites that your neighborhood is nothing more than a consumer experience for them and that the city should bend over backwards to ensure they can speed as fast as possible on their way to buy treats in it.
