Having done community safety a lot, for at least a decade (less this year, but am working to change that) I have been around many, sometimes over 100 heavily armed LEOs. I have never had them point a (non less lethal? what a stupid name) weapon at me.

Over the weekend ICE abducted an NIH contractor when he showed up to a courthouse for his green card hearing. He is documented. His wife is a citizen.

He is also member of the skeleton crew of animal care staff that works through a shutdown, to ensure the health and wellbeing of research animals.

Employers pay fed taxes on your behalf. The money doesn't magically appear. It's yours. They send it for you. Gov can tell local companies to put fed taxes in escrow (or whatever) and make Trump come sue for it. Get creative! But try something. Don't throw your hands up and say oh well.
