I swore I'd never go back to Threads as that place fills me with cynicism, self-hatred & misplaced Virginia ency, but this post makes me want to go back and preach about how Morgan Jackson is a lead weight on the NC Dems & hurts North Carolina as a whole on @americanmuckrakers.com's behalf. #NCpol

Who needs politicians to hate on when a clueless general manager or spendthrift owner can gain a lot more of your ire.
If you need a hobby to make you mad all the time sports are right there.

First a Patriots/Seahawks Super Bowl, then multiple snow falls with bitter cold allowing for zero melt chances.

Welcome back to 2015, Boston and New England!
good news for boston, you know that almost two feet of snow we got that won't melt this week because of how cold it is? what if we gave you some more next weekend?

The more I think about it, the more I think that Miller-Boyett sold a generation or period straddling generations (hello, Xennials) on a warped and heavily sanitized version of adulthood.

Granted, most 80s-90s TV falls into that trope, but Miller-Boyett had impressionable youth at play.

This post Insta suggested about that New Hanover County BOE member who was pro-ICE going after Roy Cooper is like the "GenZ White Girl Avengers Endgame" of #NCpol content.

I'm on their side, but the way they come off is just...I feel like as a liberal millennial guy I've missed the boat.

You are given any US Presidential election from 1960-2024 to reverse. Which one do you reverse and why?

My Top 5: Nixon '60, Humphrey '68, Carter '80, Gore 2000, McCain '08.

This Reel that Meta shoved in my face has me thinking about why the @ncdemocrats.bsky.social haven't condemned Don Davis the same they have the Willingham/Cunningham/Majeed trio. That and the party with a GenZ chair hates the younger vote? #NCpol

The deafening silence surrounding what is happening in our country by the North Carolina Democratic Party at large is solidified by Don Davis’s vote to further fund ICE in the United States. The current state of the North Carolina Democratic Party from leadership at the highest levels down to county chairs only wants to run the same playbook that has already lost us our entire state. There is no desire to engage with younger generations. There is no life being pumped into progressive ideas. While our party loves to brag about having the youngest chair in the country, the overwhelming dismissal of young voters keeps the party decrepit and GOP-minded. #democrats #northcarolina #gop

Why we haven't seen XFinityLetsTalk or SpectrumLetsTalk is indicative of American priorities versus Canadian. Telecom mental health washing, even as Bell has sliced mental health coverage for its employees the last decade plus, is better than nothing.
#BellLetsTalk …mental illness shouldn’t be ignored…especially if you’re the President.

As a transplant, there seems to be a hostility towards outsiders among the NC Dems while the NC GOP will embrace anyone. Remember, Phil Berger is originally from New Jersey.

I don't think the NCDP would let a non-North Carolina native have any position of influence. #NCpol
An interesting tidbit from this week's release of the Carolina Forward Poll:

Although he wins both groups, @roycoopernc.bsky.social is strongest among voters who were born in North Carolina: an 11-point margin.

Cooper wins among transplants as well, but the margin is a lot narrower.

In an alternate one year ago, Beyonce and Sean Paul reunited for one of the inauguration balls to cover "Baby Boy" as "Kamala."

It would've been simultaneously cringe and fire at the same time.

I don't think she'd get the TARDIS to do this but starving Sudanese and Renee Good and Medicaid subsidies.

The copium from August to September followed by the rug pull felt brutal. She choked worse than the Mets and had the luck of the Broncos.
exactly, she would have gone back in time to ask nicely for a ceasefire on october 7th and then stopped her past self from saying she'd give ICE a billion dollars

Here are ten things my TDS ridden brain thinks that would be happening if Kamala won on what should've been her first anniversary. Am I right?

We have crossed the time rubicon where @milesintransit.com has been doing the Miles in Transit thing for more than half of their life and I feel old now.

I love how we live in a small world. Someone who blocked me here for thinking the NC Dems choked in 2020 and I went at it on Facebook about the 2023-2024 North Carolina Auditor debacle.

I know only @americanmuckrakers.com will appreciate this but get your #NCpol popcorn ready! (1)

How is it that the US always came to everyone's aid but when the US is in trouble we get bupkis? I know, "bootstraps," but this goes beyond bootstraps.

Do you want Americans to think that Xi is their only hope? Because this is how you get Americans thinking Xi is their only hope.
I’d kindly like to remind Europe that the United States helped bail them out of two world wars and MAYBE someone over there should do SOMETHING to help the great grandchildren and grandchildren of those who helped you.

Let me tell you about a small chain in the North Shore of Massachusetts called Spuds. They had this dish called Spudachos which seems lost to history.

Or I could just slice some potatoes paper thin, fry them, and make my own.

Well, you folks who thought a Bears Super Bowl was going to fix things are going to be mega disappointed.

What if a Cubs World Series is the real key?

This Sunday Night Football Stafford/Nacua/Adams "Three's Company" homage is still not the most cringe homage inviting someone in or bound for Canton.

The "GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke" version still traumatizes me and was mercifully scrubbed. A worthy COVID casuality.

Hockey Day in Minnesota and non-playing surface ICE have come to mind. Something about Hastings and the people there make me think that Something will happen There.

Remember the brouhaha over a school board member's trans kid there? Imagine that times 100.

I'm trying to read the tea leaves of this cryptic Insta story post of someone I follow (40/f/exurb Twin Cities, white):

"For all you assholes fighting FOR ICE, a legal citizen lost their job today because of this.
That citizen was me."

Minnesota Bluesky, what should I read of this?

Looking at the PWHL and then looking at MLB, I think the latter can take lessons from the former.

I am for MLB becoming a single entity league under the ownership of Mark Walter and Guggenheim Partners, the one ownership with a brain. It would save baseball, IMO. Look at the Dodgers.
